Man U vs Roma

Well....what can you say about this one. Roma were absolutely destroyed in a very enjoyable 90 mins of great play from United. Why can't Rooney, Carrick and Smith do the same for England?!??

Because 'we' play with attacking intent. Can't say the same about England. Very little pace or drive at the best of times.

I'd argue the players know their roles too at Utd. What they need to deliver etc. Also, in defence of any England manager they do play together week in week out.

If he was still willing to be picked for England I'd argue the central midfield two should be Carrick (or Hargreaves) and Scholes. Fat Fwank can only imagine what it's like to have the skill and brain of the little wizard. The only player Zidane came up against in midfield and envied. But he'd certainly have the passing skills to open up any defence. As good as Gerrard is I prefer seeing him given a free role if you will.

Oh, it also helps having supporters getting behind 'their' team too. Not booing them off the field at every opportunity. A bit small time IMO. I'm not the biggest fan of Newcastle tbh but the times I've been to St James's Park they've certainly made a difference - 12th man and all that.

Although I can't stand McClaren. A farking charlatan. Built his career on the back of the 99 treble. An achievement which had more to do with the departing Brian Kidd than him. Sooner England sack him the better it'll be for all England fans.

I was there last night btw. Absolutely buzzing. And the bother pre-match was nothing serious tbh. I have no idea how some of these reporters would've coped during the 70s/80s. I wasn't there but I've heard enough stories and seen enough clips. They were running battles, riots etc. Last night was nothing but a little tiff. I mean ffs some supporters were chucking Easter eggs!

Aye I am a firm believer in getting behind your team. It takes alot for geordies to boo the team but unfortunately that has been happening this season thanks to some completely inept performances and lack of commitment from certain players which is unacceptable.

re. mclaren. The guy has to go. He has proved already that he is tactically clueless and that he is merely an FA puppet and should have been discarded after the last regime. He is completely uninspiring and lacks any charisma that is needed for the postion. Just like sven tbh. I can't beleive that it looks like we aren't going to qualify for next years euro's. What a complete disgrace!

Almost as unbelievable is the Man U/chelsea situation. It's gonna be one hell of a two weeks when they could potentially play three trophy deciding games against each other. I reckon one will win the double and the other the champions league. But which one would they choose??

If I was a betting man I'd get your money on Chelsea for the quadruple. Watching their match yesterday they stifle the other team and seemingly bore them into conceeding a goal (or two). It'll certainly be a case of beauty vs the beast.

Sadly I can see them overcoming our attacking flair and beating us to the title on the FA Cup.

Milan will see to us in the Champions League. ;)

If I had the choice it'd be the double though. Domestic competitions everytime for me. The Champions League is fast becoming a farce and I hate watching most - if not all - of the continental sides. Snide antics, time wasting, faking injury, cheating etc etc.

Nothing like the power of positive thought eh gloop?

My prediction is for Chelsea to do the triple and for Man utd to win the champions league. I reckon fergie wants to win it again so he is up there with the 'great managers'.
