Dude, I most definitely am!!! I usually see them on HUKD first if thats where they come from, but a) sometimes I miss things on there and get them on here and b) doesn't harm to remind me even if I have had them before.

Oh and I stalk follow you on HUKD so can track the deals you comment on which is great for seeing it local Stafford shops have deals and if you have cleared the shelf before I get there...

So please do keep posting.

No probs, will keep posting them then. Will also ensure I comment on HUKD when I find something too :)

Shortest dates appear to be March on the pasta sauces, the La Tasca stuff is between March and July, and the Nandos stuff is either August or December.

Just wanted to thank you again for posting (here and on HUKD) Tek.

Trekked across stafford this morning in a scene reminiscent of The Day after Tomorrow.... returned with 12 packs of unsmoked streaky bacon for £4 and 12 various sauces for £8.....

Tempted to go back for more of both to be honest.....

Not worries mate, happy to help. Am a bit of a bargain where TBH, happy to help others get a deal. Those last tasca sauces in particular have sparked my interest, wondering how they'll be served with chicken armadillos! Just a shame they only have a 3 month shelf life though, otherwise I'd have bagged dozens!

No worries, will carry on then :)

I assume most people know about the guy in the market with short life stuff? Go in through the entrance near Wilkinsons and turn right, he's the first guy in the food section and is on the right hand wall. I get stuff off him all the time, he often has things like sandwich meat for the kids school lunches at 2 x 200g packs for a quid as an example. Its always random what he has, but I think a lot comes from spar shops going on the packaging. He has some fresh wedges by Mash Direct quite frequently, which are rather nice too.

He's actually a proper butcher too, his stall is double the size of most in there, but the right hand side is usually reduced stuff. Made some great meals with random items I've got there. Am a bit of a womble when it comes to food, find whats about then find a way to combine it into something useful! I graduated last century but still think like a student, if you are spending over £2 on a meal at home it should be something special. Even the chicken armadillos are only £1 a 300g(ish) portion, by substituting breast meat for thigh and buying the bacon in the last co-op deal!

Think it was you who got me hooked on the sauces in Home & Bargain Tek ( know it was someone on here ).

I'm not usually very adventurous when it comes to trying new food ,but worth giving it bash at their prices.

Just to note for any interested parties.... went to Wildwood co-op today and bacon deal all gone... Weston Road still have loads of the stuff though (smoked and unsmoked). I got 6 more packs but the fridge is full of bacon and chicken now so couldn't fit anymore in.

Yes, they ring through at £1 each and £2 comes off at the end. (My packs had got stickers on them saying '2 for £3' but still went through at 3 for £1)

Yes, staff are fine with it. Its an official offer to clear the stock since dates are short (but freezable).

The price ticket on the shelf does confirm 3 for £1, second chiller on the left immediately as you go through the door.
