Motor home help.

proactive

Enjoying a drop of red.
However, while some people might consider us to be a bit fussy, I personally don’t want to compromise on what we want when on holiday.
For example I’d rather not go away on holiday at all if I had to stay in a three star hotel, we choose 4 or 5 star hotels.
So it’s the same for the motor home. Don’t see the point of leaving behind a nice house and garden to stay somewhere where I’m not going to have the amenities that I need to be comfortable.
Quite right too.

Are you already planning to make a holiday of the (future) trip to Spain and back?

Yes, we are.
Possibly this September.
Coincidentally my husband has just this morning been talking to our new neighbours who also own a home in Southern Spain.
Apparently it’s best to get the Portsmouth ferry to Santander then it’s a 10 hour drive.
Once husband has retired in a few years we hope to make the journey part of the holiday and drive through France and Spain but for now with limited leave we will just do the shortest route.

We’ve booked somewhere in Norfolk from the Tranquil website.
Adults only, 5 star, all pitches fully serviced.

Neither of us have visited that part of England so we’re looking forward to exploring.

Whereabouts are you going to and when?

You also have to look out for weird hill billy types that say things like "squayal liyak a peeug." A bit like that part of Staffordshire to the northeast of Hilderstone ... (I know this from my British Telecomm days. You always kept your back to the van up there I can tell you ...)

Electricity in Norfolk is a new fangled phenomenon, you know!!!!
We couldn't get Lime cordial anywhere either for my lager & lime. They had never heard of it when we went about 6 years ago. One pub did actually put a slice of lime into my lager....ended up drinking lemon juice and lager (not quite the same , even lemonade would have been better which they also didn't have in the bars we went in)
Just one supermarket had one dusty bottle that had been there for yonks as no call for it.

Not near you, or at the same time as you!
You’re going to Hunstanton at the end of August?
Were about an hour away from you, half way between Cromer and Happisburgh.

Yes we're going to Old Hunstanton in August

We stayed at Winterton-on-sea (just south of Happisburgh) a couple of years ago.

The beaches are lovely but they were warning people not to walk near the "cliffs" around Happisburgh.

If you go to Horsey Gap to see the seals turn off the path and climb over the dunes before you go to the "official" seal watching point.

We could see more of them from the dunes than the other location and they were closer.

Try these, possibly less so now with incomers but still along the right lines.

Husband was giving the motorhome a quick going over ready for the first outing this year but when he switched the boiler on, the red LED light comes on and it trips off.

There’s nothing in the manual troubleshooting guide so he’s going to ring the dealer tomorrow.

On the meantime I wondered if anyone had any ideas what the problem might be?

He’d drained the boiler through the drain valve and has filled the water tank back up, which he assumes should re fill the boiler. He’s wondering if there’s air in it or insufficient water in the boiler.

Any ideas?

Edited to say ignore all that. He thinks, (touch wood and fingers crossed) that he’s sorted it.

Standard response in these situations is to get registered on an online motorhome forum (if not already) and ask the question there. I guarantee there will be at least one person who will know what the issue will be. It's what the parents have been doing for years...

Thank you, he’s sorted it now.
He’d searched all the forums for hours but quite a few replies were quite technical, some people assume a level of experience that we don’t have yet.

He also spends quite a lot of time watching Bob Earnshaw’s you tube videos which have proved invaluable.
