Can someone help me with the three large wheelie plastic fuel containers that the Borough Council kindly provide.
I've worked out that the green one is for unleaded and the blue one for diesel, but I'm not sure what to put in the brown one.

Your own personal waste product, which will ferment to produce the gas for your poop-power conversion?

Since the last time we had such a genuine risk of a fuel supply disaster that obviously warranted the behaviour it created I have been making every journey via the longest route possible. This uses more fuel which lowers the level in my tank and means I can fit more in next time we have to make a calculated and sensible decision to fill up at short notice. It's just about using logic guys. And don't call it panic buying, it makes people who use my kind of logic sound like we're daft.

I do not currently own a vehicle, but I'm stockpiling fuel just in case I get one in the near future. I have a lot of Newcastle Brown bottles full of fuel, the tops sealed with bits of cloth.

i spent the last couple of weeks ripping the bottom/floor of my car off, got the idea offa (some old mates of mine) Fred and Barney, i can now simply hold the car up and run, no need for fuel!

see, we're not all daft.

I could have sold you my golf and saved you the effort.
Beware when buying fast food. Do not overbalance the vehicle by piling too much food on one side.

Oh the irony of using such a prehistoric idea to overcome our fossil fuel issue. It'll never pass an MoT though and I reckon you'll end up being listed on the 'poor driving' thread for taking too long to pull away from the lights on the ring road.

But would it be required to pass an MOT test?

Sandon Road Shell had every pump in action as I came past just now - and two cars waiting..

Once again there has been NO strike called. IF there is to be a strike the Unions will have to give 7 DAYS notice of their intention to strike. Given the time lapse those starting to panic buy now will probably be needing to re-fuel just around the time when a possible (and I stress the word POSSIBLE) strike gets into full swing

Given all that if you are rushing to top up now then you are clearly a total ignoramus.

The annoying thing is I actually need to buy fuel later (as I actually have an empty tank) and will now probably have to queue for an age with all the morons.

LIDL was low on bottled water this morning. I reckon people had panic-bought water when the supply was cut LOL. The same people are probably now filling up those bottles with fuel.

Had it done on me last time and had to pay the extortinate prices the rip off businesses round here charge (the south had plenty no panic buyers and prices just 2p above normal).

Like i said i had to pay £1.51 ltr last time - i only put it in my car i dont bottle it or drink it like some round here :)
Its going to be the same whatever it is - a shortage of something and they grab - a closing down sale and the whole of stafford comes out to pick the bones (which is what happened at the deli - like the post said if people had supported them as much as they did the week they closed down things may have been different)
Staffords full of old people or unemployed who dont go anywhere except stafford - i have places to go and people to see and i shop out of town - im happy haha:P

ive treated myself to an electric bike - its brilliant ! well worth it - anyone else thinking about it get the 36 volt one and not 24 volt one.

I work on the other side of stafford and ive worked out I save about £5 a day on fuel -

Charge the battery up every two days - brilliant piece of kit - well worth the money (and great fun)
