Er......... its in a cats genetic makeup to hunt and kill. Cats dont see mice as 'nice little mices', except in human cartoons. Real cats, domesticated or wild, cant help but see mice as tatgets, just like that bit of string that we dangle for them. By the way, when cats are 'playing' with your dangly string(!) they are practicing how to kill. Even with a satisfactory diet provided by its owner, a cat will go out and kill for sport. You cant say a cat is doesnt need to kill. It's like saying an ostrich doesnt need to run.
