The place is near 'Bank' and some other station I can't remember. The area was full of serious people in suits and expensive cafes. Scared the crap out of me!
right, having consulting the oracle that is my diary, bank is on the central, waterloo & city, northern, circle, district and docklands lines, so any where along any of those lines would probably be a good start if youre prepared to fork out for the tube.
The aforementioned Tooting and Balham are both Northern Line-able. About 10-15 minutes to Bank I reckons. The problem with the buses is that at commuting times the traffic is that bad you may as well walk.

The other station's probably Monument. It's actually linked to Bank by foot tunnels, so it's pretty much the same station.

If you're going to be working there, get yerself along to Leadenhall Market for a pint at lunch. I think it's round there that the pub's open at about 8 in the morning or something daft, as their original clientele was made up of the porters finishing work from the early morning fish markets and such. Interestingly enough, that's where the drink porter got its name from. This halfway between ale and stout style drink is what these porters used to drink.

Anyway, you'll probably be able to have a pint before, between and after work if you so desire. Result.

Yeah I remember on the way back from one of the interviews I took the other tube station (Monument) and got a bit confused. I never knew which way to turn when I got off the tube, then got too distracted by the adverts on the escalators to pay attention to where I was going.

Leadenhall Market's fandabbydozy at Crimbo - proper Victoriano festive style. They have a mah-hue-sive tree in the middle, with the Sally Army singing round it, and all the butchers and stuff have the old style meat hook-based displays of birds and huge joints of meat outside.

THAT'S why I was attracted to London initially, stuff like that. Hopefully it will outweigh the downsides.

Hehehe. You'll do well down here. Anders Panders still doesn't know where she's going most of the time. She gets all dazzled by the bright lights of the big city, bless her.

There's an eternally contrasting bag of pros and cons down here.

Erm well now that's a good question! The role is for a 'technology consultant' which quite frankly could mean almost anything. It's something to do with computers. I think. It's a graduate thingy so hopefully they'll teach me what I need to know. Hopefully.
