Who exactly does this to55er represent? Today he voted against the rights of EU nationals who have made this country their home being protected post Brexit :(

Almost half of the people that bothered to vote here last time voted for him.

Up from the previous election.

I suspect he's actually got a fair understanding of his electorate.

You really think half the population of Stafford would wish EU citizens to lose all rights? I can understand them wanting them to lose access to benefits, and social housing, and maybe access to free treatment on the NHS until they'd paid enough tax, but 'all rights' seems a bit harsh to me :/

I know people voted for him, but maybe we need to get to the stage where he asks his constituents what they feel on individual issues, rather than just getting to vote as he feels, once elected. He's neither for the people or of the people in my opinion!

I am not his apologist or his defender. Half the population of Stafford voted for him to represent them. He can represent them in any way that he sees fit. They can, if they so wish, not re-elect him next time, if he stands again.

That's UK democracy. You get what you sort-of vote for.

The voters voted for him to represent them, they don't get a vote on how he chooses to do that, that is purely a matter for him.

Sadly.

It never ceases to amaze me how little people understand how a Parliamentary democracy actually works.

Well, i say that, but my amazement is approaching the point where it will actually cease permanently.

Leprechauns are generally resident in a nearby republic and subject to a rather different level of democracy.

I have a copy of the system that they are subject to, should you wish to peruse it.

Earlier this year Jezza was opposed to brexit, I for one am not aware that he has changed his stance on this.

I have sent a communique to his office staying that if he maintains this anti-brexit encampment we shall stand shoulder to shoulder....

16 days later and I am yet to receive a reply....
