Wanted Multi Gym Repair - TIG or MIG??

I'm not too sure if this will get any response, particularly in this section, but I have snapped the arm of my multi-gym and was wondering if a TIG or MIG weld would work? If so, does anyone have access and would do this for a small fee??

Cheers.

Can you remove the part(s)? Is the material steel? AA Silencers might be worth approaching, if you can get it to them.

Cheers both. I'm not too sure if it is steel or alloy. I think I have the manual somewhere. Also, I'm not too sure if it can be removed without having to take the whole thing apart. I'll have a look in a bit, but thanks for the heads up.

This isn't the exact same model as mine, but the main white coloured arm construction is. It's one of the 'C' shape handles that has snapped. The handle goes inside the main arm part and is welded on the inside. To get to it, there's a plastic cap at the end of the arm.

Right - it is almost certainly steel, which is good. Putting a weld in torsion like that isn't the best design, but you're stuck with it. The arm ought to be removable, I would have thought - the padded bit ought to come off, anyway, there'll be a bit of heat about during the welding - and, maybe, some spatter.
