I hate Sainsbury's; 23½ Wham free days and then, with just 10 hours to go, on it comes 'Last Christmas'. Only popped in to get a couple of bits as well. So close to victory, only to have it snatched away from me at the last hurdle.

Shop before 12 noon, it doesn't start till then so as not to upset the bah humbug brigade!

:bananafunk:

Sod the bah humbug lot. Wandered round on my own yesterday, singing to myself as I went. Only did a mini duet with 1 of the blokes stocking up the frozen veg. He was no Shane, but I made a brilliant Kirsty!

Well, only one box of sons presents ended up smashed after bouncing on each step on its way from the top to bottom of the stairs last night. Unfortunately the most delicate one, that he was most pleased with when he first saw what was inside the box. Then found all 3 plant ornaments had the glass rims smashed off and in tiny fragments in the box :(

Enjoying my first ever Pin Gin experience. :)
Never had gin before, except for a sip of some plain gin years ago which I hated, so had convinced myself I hated Gin. But a present off son and going down nicely, alternating with my ciders . Cheers everyone :pint:

proactive

Enjoying a drop of red.
Soggy 2.5 hour walk over the Chase this morning with canine p and the entire Proactive clan (although the more elderly only managed half an hour before wimping out.

Off over to sunny Leicester for a bit of hospitality before what should be an interesting match this evening in a bit. And for once at a footy match, I'm not driving, yay :pint:

We were in Leicester yesterday (Christmas Day).
Son is now a pub landlord, running a pub in Leicester city centre. The pub was open yesterday so over we went to spend time with him and some of the locals.
He’s expecting the pub to be busy today and this evening with all the sport on (he shows it on tv in one area of the pub) especially with the Leicester/Liverpool match tonight.
Then tomorrow we’re having our Christmas Day at home with the turkey, the presents, the fizz etc.

Just prepped the turkey and the veg for tomorrow, so today feels like Christmas Eve.

Not my usual boxing day....stayed completely sober so that I could give son a lift to his mates and then back from town tonight.

(After the sad incident at Radford on christmas morning , despite him insisting he'd be ok, I was worried sick about him walking miles on his own with no taxis available when he rang on xmas night. I'd had a drink earlier in the night so couldn't drive him at 2am. Worth a sober night myself ,the next night, to make sure he got there and back in one piece , and to save me turning any greyer !)

I used his car to save messing getting mine out of the garage, so better not do his usual moaning when he finds his seat pulled 2ft forwards when he comes to drive back home tomorrow .
