So very sorry to hear this news. It’ll hurt, it’ll hurt such a lot. Eventually you will be able to remember Alfie without it hurting so much.

I don’t know what to say to really other than I’m so so sorry for you.
Totally understand how sad you will be feeling and very lost without him.
Big hugs to you.

Sorry to hear the sad news.

At least he's not in pain anymore and knew he was loved so much.

With a large amount of home time looming, I've started to look through the Open Universities' Open Learning free courses catalogue; a huge amount of short, free courses to choose from.

These look perfect, not too long and without the pressure of working towards formal exams / qualifications which, of course, you can always move on to later, if you wish.

If anyone else is interested, here you go: https://www.open.edu/openlearn/free-courses/full-catalogue

Want to thank you so much for posting this!

I have shared this with all my Yr10.11.12.13 students not only to kill the boredom but any university / job / college application will be boosted by any of these courses!

Tidying sons old bedroom ( the dining room stuff got slung in there to make room for hubby's office stuff) found what looked like sweets in his Japanese drawer. Thought I'd better whattsapp a photo to make sure they actually we're sweets before I tucked in....
Cough sweets! (3 years out of date, but in desperate times might come in very useful...)

Advice required.
Have sanded our steel chimnea down ready for summer.
Does anyone here know whether black lead (Zeebrite) or similar would work better than heat proof paint?

It's got to be worth a try, though it will be subjected to higher temperatures than a stove would be.

It may be that being washed off by rain could be a bigger issue for it.

One of our rear neighbours has a penchant for burning stuff right at the back of the garden, which of course leads to everyone around getting the smell of smoke into their homes

During a pandemic for a respiratory infection, clever.
