I've always wanted to welcome a cat into our home!

It wasn't a good idea when we rented - so I waited.

It wasn't a good idea by a busy road in my first house - so I waited.

Now I have the perfect house for a cat (or two - depends how many I can get past the husband...)

But I can't seem to find one anywhere! I'm not exaggerating!! All rescues within a 50mile radius have NONE! I mean, it's great cats aren't being abandoned but not so great if you'd like one...

Suggestions on a post a note!
Sadly there will be an influx over the coming weeks.

Have you tried Kats Cradle rescue centre in Coven?. They have always got cats up for adoption on their Facebook page.

A lot of rescues were emptied when people wanted companions during lockdown. That being said I have seen some pop up on Cats Protection. Your best bet is to let them all know you’re looking, and what you’re looking for. Then they’ll contact you hopefully.

And if you’re looking for a house cat keep an eye on Birman Welfare & Rescue as they’re the most loving little shits.

Thank you - I'm signed up with Cats Protection already so fingers crossed!

Thank you - have contacted Birman as they have a Scotland branch!

I read a post yesterday on a cat rescue site from someone struggling to find a rescue cat to give a home to. The rescue replied that they had plenty of cats in , but with the covid restrictions the vets weren't able to do the vet checks on them as quickly as they could before. So weren't able to release onto their website for adoption until that had been done.
They were telling the lady to get a virtual home check done beforehand , as when their cats became available after being cleared by the vets the people who had already had a home check got priority .

Good luck with finding one (or two or more ....) to give a nice loving home to soon .

One will come up be sure of that. Maybe try the more urban areas? I know they are far but inverness or Edinburgh perhaps? Alternatively you've waited ages so it will just be a short while til kitten season and last year's unneutered kittens give birth :(

I have been into the Outside World for the first time since last Wednesday.

It seems to be largely still there.

I stopped on the way to investigate the condition of the Inaccessible Mountains - I expected them to look a bit whiter, but the Sun has been very strong here today.
