I couldn't care less whether he micro managed it himself or stayed right out of the way to let somebody competent do it, as long as it works and, so far it is.

So your praise for him is for not doing anything? An interesting way to look at the leadership of our country, but TBH most things work better when Johnson isn't involved

Best way would be to learn to ride (assuming you haven't already) and get your own bike. Then you can go in convoy and it's much more fun.
I don't want to, I think I'd kill myself as I don't concentrate enough! Normally we go in the car and I can have a snooze on the way home. We went the scenic route which took twice as long.

What part of what I wrote was praise. I just want things to get better right now and I really couldn't give afuck about the politics of it. Things getting better is all that counts, as I don't know about you, but I've just about had enough.

Some people on here appear to have had a 'good' pandemic. I am not one of them.

The wife passed her test but hasn't really bothered to ride since, for the same reasons as you.

Personally I'm getting tired of seeing Boris Johnson gallivanting around the country in either a lab coat, rolled up shirtsleeves or a fluorescent jacket and hard hat just to get a photo opportunity by getting in the way of people who are doing real work. Why doesn't he just 'stay at home' in Nr 10 and practice his 'errrrs,' 'ummmms' and 'aaaars' and let people get on with fixing things.

Do you know what pollen it is you are allergic to?
No idea, I was ok last year but terrible the year before.... Before then I hadn't had hay-fever since I was 16!

I speak to a couple that are farmers who seemed very knowlagable about it, they did tell me it was a particular type of tree that's near to where I live, as I didn't believe hay-fever could start in febuary (as it did 2 years ago).

It feels very unjustified as you expect hay-fever in hot weather, and I've been freezing all day!

It looks like it's a 'good' year for birch pollen.

Lots of ash, too.
Any of those on the common? Lovely couple I see quite often told me it was down to tree pollen, but I can't remember which ones they said...

Feeling lousy, looked like I'd been 10 rounds with tyson this morning as my eyes were so swollen & puffy.

Do you take tablets? I always take mine before I go to bed so at least I can get my contacts in in the morning.

My money would be on Birch - all over the place and well on the go now - not much you're going to do about it.

Sympathy to you with the hay fever, must be really dreadful.

Unexpectedly we've had glorious weather here since Friday. T shirt weather. It's been absolutely lovely. It tricked me into thinking that summer had arrived.

We saw our son on Friday (first time since Christmas Eve) and we were expecting to be cold sitting outside but we're blessed with the sun and we after a walk on the Chase we had a 3 course meal outside.

Yesterday and today we've been outside gardening. We've planted another palm tree and cherry tree, dug over garden beds, jet washed the patio and then rewarded ourselves sitting outside in the breeze house with a bottle of wine.

I'm still outside now, although it's gone a bit chilly so I'm in the breeze house with the heater on. Breeze house seemed like an extravagance when we bought it, but we've use it loads, so it was worth every penny.

Yep the wind has been cold here but out of it was lovely. I went for s bike ride with shorts rather than leggings earlier, although a jacket was still required.
Mmm, maybe it's a little warmer to the west, but, having spotted a road I had missed in my "all in the 5km challenge" I had a "Phil Collins" bike ride this afternoon.

Windy, it must be said, but about 12 to 13℃.

We are 'promised' a significant cooling overnight, with the potential of some snow to suppress the birch pollen.

I don't really get an allergy-effect, but the sheer quantity of 'stuff' in the air causes some mechanical issues - my eyes need "crystals" removing from the corners a few times a day.

I've got 'over the counter tablets' that don't seem to be doing much, I take them at around tea time as I seem to be ok at work (a combination of air con & masks may help) but this morning I woke up with massively swollen itchy eyes which watered along with my nose, all day long, add to that sneezing, itching & a headache and my stubborness that I was going to sit in the garden all afternoon cold or not. Now I'm suffering.

I stubbornly sat outside all afternoon pretending I was in Wales, even though I felt really cold... middle minime & his gf came over to sit in the garden which was lovely... Bring on the summer sun....

I had a "Phil Collins" bike ride this afternoon.

That quote took me back a bit.

When I worked for British Airways I was on the Jumbo fleet (747s), it was very strict.
Even if we were landing in Africa or India in 40 degree heat we absolutely always all the time had to wear our jackets.

Our colleagues who worked on the Tristar had it so much easier. So much more laid back.

In the industry they were referred to as "The Phil Collins fleet"

No Jacket Required.
