Last night the conference I'm at laid on a dinner - I have allergies, so I made sure they knew about it and double checked what they were bringing out was OK for me. They assured me it didn't have anything in it that would cause me a problem

It did

The swelling in my throat has gone down and I can now swallow again, but my stomach is not feeling so good this morning. Lucky my allergy isn't too serious, and i got suspicious very quickly and stopped - seriously glad that the same thing didn't happen to someone with a really bad allergy, could have been very nasty
Sat in a hotel room at 4am eating a stale hot cross bun & a cuppa.

Just can't sleep ..... what's the betting I dose off just before my 6.30 wake-up call!
Hope you are both feeling better today - that was horrible for each of you :(

I can't shake off this horrible 'cold' 12 days in.....I have 2 sheds & several fence panels I want to paint in this lovely sunshine....didn't get any done yesterday as I was FFEEZING cold while youngest daughter danced round the garden in her summer frock!

Also my car is full of spiders. :(

After finally getting about an hours sleep, and an early breakfast , drove back home safely on my own.
My plans for making the most of being right by MerryHill and spending lots of dosh were scuppered ...... Hubby had held my debit cards for safe keeping last night while I went for a swim and he's gone off to work from the hotel in the bosses car this morning with them still in his wallet! :grr:

Shame you was affected by the meal photography_bloke, hope you are feeling a bit better now.

WMR - Hope you also recovered from the horrible stomach bug. Well done on only having a few ciggies though!

Littleme - sounds a bad one lasting 12 days so far, hope you pick up enough to get out doing a few jobs in this lovely sunshine. I had a horrible sore throat in the early hours but seems to have gone again this morning. Must have been with spending ages in the swimming pool, steam room and jacuzzi yesterday.

UPDATE:

Third day since Harley was attacked by a Boarder Collie from Brocken Garden Centre in Chase Lane.

Harley is much brighter today and wants to go for a walk but because of his open wounds i am unable to put a collar or Harness on him. So we are having to make do with walking around the garden.

Wounds are looking much better and apart from the fact he can't shake they don't seem to be bothering him to much now.
I am really not enjoying having to clean then out at least twice a day.

He is having a snooze beside me right now =

How is Harley now Helen Goff? (I keep wanting to call him Henri)

Just been to the vet as wounds not healing. Got stronger/different antibiotics and more painkillers to try over easter.
If they arn't healing after that then we will will have to try something else.

It might be worth asking for some swabs to be taken and sent to a lab. I don't know if you have insurance. I have always figured it wasn't worth it, insurance is generally weighted one way - I just accept that every few years I will have stump many hundreds but overall this will be less than insurance.
My cat had a wound which wasn't healing after 2 different antibiotics it turned out he had TB. The local lab thought he had M Bovis but after the sample was sent to the main vet lab in Bristol it turned out to be a type of avian TB.
The confusion was caused by the sample and the lack of proper equipment in the local lab. In fact they sent two samples to the local lab who could not grow a proper culture on a petri dish to make a real diagnosis. To get enough tissue for the main vet lab in Bristol the vet cut his digit off.
If the wound isn't healing I would be suspicious.

My cat is now fine. In fact he recently appeared in this book and this book

Wed night we missed the rather crap arivva wales replacement bus service* that picked up 100m away from where it dropped off. Luckily despite sunstroke and good cider I had the wherewithal to ask a local for a lift. Had this not happened my walk home would have been several miles with an 8 year old, not fun and TBF she's alright at walking. There is sod all chance that driver reads this despite being from the midlands, but if he does I want to say thanks a lot, I was just getting the first chills of sunstroke and that walk would have killed me. Was dead for 14 hours afterwards.

* I will say the reason for the bus was valid, the train track was in the sea.

While others are out and about enjoying the weather or visiting family and friends. We will be in the garden trying desperatly to remove tree stumps, roots and knackered sheds so we can redesign the space.

But it is getting the better of us. Need a garden/landscape designer who is used to working with hills.

Son drove us out for a meal so that both me & hubby could enjoy a drink.
Dog & Doublet at Sandon was ram packed and couldn't even get a parking space.
Ended up at Wolseley Arms and had a superb meal.

Reasons to be cheerful?

Amidst the flighty butterflies, my first Swallow fluttered by. :)

Only the one, though.
