Had a lovely weekend so far.
Son came home for belated birthday weekend (he's been up in Edinburgh again for the Festival/Fringe ) so we went into town last night for a meal.

This afternoon we all went to the Parish BBQ at Acton Trussell/Bednall Community Centre which was lovely... loads of people that we knew to chat to, very much a community event with a lovely atmosphere.

I did get very excited at one point when the raffle was drawn.... I went to collect the choice of prize...I chose the afternoon tea for two @TheLewisPartnership Moat House.

I realised afterwards that it wasn't my ticket that had won, but my friend who had left earlier and given me trust of her ticket.
I met up with her later to give her the prize and she was delighted .... she so deserves it.

Then we went to our friends house in the village for prosecco and nibbles and an impromptu quiz.

Back home now.
Happy Days

Earlier in the day we'd gone down to the stepping stones on The Chase, which we approached from Brocton end, parking up near Freda's grave, walking past the very old oak trees and down the slope.

It's easier walking down than it is going back up again....unless you're a dog, in which case it's huge fun in any direction

Boy is here later today. Just back from a week in Southern France for a wedding. Got the short version of his journey home late on Thursday. Two coaches, two flights a train and a taxi. Seems somewhat convoluted.

I spent a frustrating day yesterday, every time I started something I had to stop and go fix something, sort out something or help someone else. Long story short, why can't anyone do anything for themselves????

I'll be spending much of the day clearing out an old cupboard, which usually means taking everything out and putting much of it back again, arranged slightly more efficiently, but anyway ....

It looks like I'm sorting stuff into 4 categories : stuff to go back into the cupboard; stuff for the tip; stuff for recycling; and stuff for charity.

At the moment I'm going through some old computer games, seeing if they'll run on Windows 10. (I'm just waiting for Championship Manager Season 2003/04 to install. Fingers crossed.)

ETA No luck with CM - it was a long shot, though I have been successful with Madden 2004 and A Bridge Too Far.

I've just had a "Lush" bath.

Gorgeous candle, glass of wine, a chapter of my book.
Slathered myself in body lotion from top to toe.

Then a bit later settle down to watch Doctor Foster.

Sounds like my kind of night in!
What did you have for snack-age?
Can't drink wine in the bath without some sort of tacky crisp selection!

I've spent all evening being over excited about back to school tomorrow!!
Eeeep!
