Saw what to do to get the Wildwood staff jumping to attention...walk in with a cute well behaved puppy, so that 2 barstaff can sprint across within seconds to tell you to get out as dogs not allowed.

With it pouring with rain and no parasols on the tables outside, hope the dogs owner was able to stand in the doorway to enjoy the pint they had just served him.

We told him about The Bod which is dog friendly, but not sure the bloke was from around here. All the bloke wanted to do was enjoy his pint tucked away in a corner... We used to take our dog in there many years ago, as did many other customers, and quite a few friendships and future custom was formed through the presence of those four legged ( or 3 legged in our case) friends!

Just got in from “shed night”.

Which is a night in a shed turned into a pub in a friends back garden.

As mentioned on another thread, we have to amuse ourselves in the village.

We’ve also now got a new bar/pub/entertaining room at the bottom of our garden.

We had friends round last weekend for gin tasting and they were impressed by our gin selection (20 gins). Also 5 different flavours of tonic.

They said that The Seven Stars have 10 choices of gin and The Moat House 16.

I just wondered how many gins they had at the The Gun Shop, is it called No 7?

………………………………

Edited to say that our gin stock might appear excessive, but there is a very good reason for this.

Once we knew that we were having our bar built (Last April) we decided to buy a bottle of gin every week or two.

We thought that we’d have about 6 or 8 gins in the bar by the time the build was finished.

However because we employed Geobuild who never finished it (see another thread) we have ended up with lots of gin.

What's your favourite gin so far?

Our friends love Hendricks, Sipsmiths, Martin Millers and Boodles.

We really love this one, Birmingham Gin, which is lovely and has proved very popular.

But for something different we like this Greenalls wild berry gin, served with fresh raspberries, and it’s only £12 a bottle in Tesco.

On this miserable day, i am tucked up on the sofa watching Wrestlemania. I've been avoiding the results for a while so I've been on edge of seat a couple of times.

Husband likes Jimmy Tarbuck, swing music, comedy and big orchestras so before Christmas I bought tickets for “Swing with Laughter” starring Jimmy Tarbuck, a comedy compère, the Buddy Greco all stars orchestra, Kenny Lynch and Anita Harris.
A night of classic comedy and swinging music, such fun!

I even managed to get tickets right at the front. Result.

So having had the tickets for months I went on the website to see how sales were going.
Oh dear, there were still tickets available at the front, hardly any tickets sold at all.

Got a phone call today from Victoria Hall to say that the show has been cancelled due to “personal circumstances”

It’s now showing “sold out” on the website not “cancelled”.

Anyway, I’m not at all disappointed, I gone off the idea so was glad to get my £63 back.

Tried to find some diffusers for some strip lights we have, realised it's cheaper to bin them and buy whole new LED light fittings.

Crawled ito my pit at 8pm last night, got back out at 06.30am this morning. Don't normally get anymore than 5hrs maximum, and I'm knackered! Could do with going back bed for a bit longer.
