It may have been because I mentioned the stafford forum to the owner and I told him that I had heard positive reviews so I thought I would try it for mysself. His response was I better make it extra special for you then.
At the time I assumed that everyone got vouchers, but now looking back it may be due to the power of the stafford forum.

I'm sure if ask for Mo and mention the Forum and that you weren't given the vouchers they would give you some.

The staff seem keen to please and eager that you enjoy the food and come back again in the future so they'll probably gladly give you a few vouchers.

I went last weekend and the food was gorgeous. I was really impressed with the veggie selection as well. And we got complimentary drinks at the end of the meal. Definitely be going back.

Funny enough we did mention it and the three ladies sitting on the table next to us said ooh my brother owns that forum, the owner said he knew of the forum and reads it regularly, didn't get us any special treatment though!

Just a thought - I'm wondering if Mo nips out the back to log on and check how many points you've got, before offering any vouchers?..

If so that would mean nobody will get the vouchers when the new pointless Forum is launched :(

Last time I went in Mo said that he hadn't had time to go on the Forum for ages but said he would take a look soon.
.
It seems a little strange that the vouchers are distributed on such a random basis as they are now. I would have thought that you would want the 2 for 1 offer to be used to attract new custom rather than reward the converted who've already been there.

Thats a shame the offer has finished... that was my incentive to go... I think Malabar still do 2 for 1 in the week so going to be difficult for me to justify going here over Malabar when the offer is on.

We have a voucher which doesn't run out until 28/02/12. Unfortunately, the voucher is only valid Mon-Thurs which is why we haven't been able to use it on any of our visits.

Even without the voucher it's still very reasonably priced. You can take your own alcohol, so without that it comes to about £15 per person every time.

Did anyone else get the special solid silver cutlery? And what about the amazing way that they send someone round to clean your house from top to bottom while you eat? Whadya mean they didn't do that for you?

i hear what your saying - until karma (RIP) came along, malabar was my indian restaurant of choice since it opened.. but you have to try this narvana place - it is the dog's knees, fo' realzies.. i would much rather pay a few quid more for the excellent food and atmosphere, and the menu has so much more to choose from than your typical indian place..

also, this.. even house wine is about a tenner a bottle in the cheapest of places, so that fact you can BYOB to narvana is a big selling point for me - especially seeing as i love red & the missus doesn't, so if we're going in a group we can bring a few bottles and not have to compromise :)

the first time we went, my mate brought a bottle of vimto - the waiter spotted him pouring himself a glass, and commented about how much he loved it himself, so my mate offered him some.. the waiter went and got a glass, accepted the offer, and had a tipple & chat with us while he took a breather from running around like a blue-arsed fly! lol..

Oh i'll definately give it a try on a Friday or Saturday night.... just if I go in the week it makes sense to go somewhere with an offer on like 2-4-1 at Malabar or the great deals at The Swan.

No, with all these amazing reviews I definitely want to try Narvana out... and soon to support the place so we don't lose it like P&A or Karma.

I went last night never saw any 2 for 1 offers on! hope I haven't missed out lol
Went in again last night and had another excellent meal. I had the hyberabadi but swapped the chicken for lamb (as recommended by Andreas Rex some time ago, thank you) and it was really tasty.

We got talking to Mo and he said the reason he didn't give every customer a voucher was that he'd run out of vouchers when you were there. He said he would honour the 2 for 1 offer if you ask for it when ordering.

I'm not sure whether this applies to all customers but even without the offer I would still highly recommend this place.

They had vouchers when I went last night!
I dont want my second ever post on the new forum a moan but I went last night and was sooooo disappointed!
I always use Stafford Balti but thought id try something new, and it has such good reviews!
I found it all lacked flavour, my vege samosas were particularly weird as they tasted like the ones you get from the Chinese, it was all just bland.

Sorry!

Real shame you had a bad experience, especially after we'd all hyped it up :(

I had a takeaway once that was below par, think it was in early January, but was still better than most other places so gave them another chance. Had a further 3 takeaways from them since and all were great. In fact we'll be ordering another one tonight, going to see a mate and curry/film seems a good plan.

One thing I always wonder, if they are open every night surely they don't have the same chef every day? I know with Spice Delight you could always tell which chef cooked it as soon as you opened the container, and when we used the place a lot we definately had a preferred chef. I'm guessing all places are the same, maybe they should post their rota up for us! ;)

A group of us are going on Saturday, I've persuaded everyone to try something new, so hopefully it lives up to this thread's expectations!
