Need two fence panels

Hi folks,

I'm wondering where the best place is to buy fence panels in Stafford.

I need to double check but think they are 6ft x 5ft so obviously won't fit in the car so need somewhere that will deliver so that's B&Q and Homebase out.... also Wickes charge £25 delivery as far as I can see so they are out too...

So where would be cheap to buy and cheap to deliver two fence panels please?

Fence panels that are slid down into concrete posts, in the modern fashion, are very easy to steal - though, I'm not suggesting that you do this, of course!

But a simple strap between panels makes the theft rather more difficult and time-consuming.

Even more so if you use screws with a less common drive system...

Regular supplier, never been disappointed with the quality. They may also sell a version of the clips Gramaisc mentioned, although I can't see one on the website so it'd be worth actually calling and asking about that. There is a version which goes under the gravelboard to prevent panel lift, as opposed to connecting adjacent panels.

It's just a matter of making it difficult to slide the panels up easily, without climbing over into the garden to undo things. A bit of decent wire will do it - or just a pointy screw driven through the side of the panel to create some friction on the post.

I remember a case some years ago when a new fence on Eccleshall Road was removed on the first night.

I found a new fence panel dumped in a garden once, and, by the time we'd worked out where it came from, the owner had replaced it - but, at least, he has a spare now..

Slide-up panels are also a point of entry for those who know - I used to gain access to a garden once by sliding a panel up and getting a mower in and out, as the owner never got round to getting me a key for the garage back door. They were horrified when I showed them how easy it was.

Some panels in fences with wooden post are also held in by clips, for the purpose of making it easy to remove them for treatment, etc. The same issues apply in that situation.

Again, a few obstruction screws will reduce the problem significantly..
