Heard that there was one opening near the Uni... anyone confirm or have I been misinformed ?

Wonder if this is connected with the outfit that have been developing (or not) the castle course the past 3 years.......

Was supposed to be one put on Blackheath Lane about 4 years ago. No connection to the Castle.

It'd be good to have one nearby, I used to play loads when I was a youngster but never kept it up after I moved away from Manchester. I'd quite like to have a range so that I can spent some time up there and see if I still enjoy golf before parting with mucho £££££££'s and joining a club!

and if there is a range being built - please, please, please include outside bays where you can hit off grass, (subject to weather, so the grass isn't chewed up) practicing off mats is not exactly good. Also, separate chipping/bunker area please :)

I've been there, it's OK but the ball vender nicked my quid coins both times I went, also (as per post that I edited whilist you were replying!) I don't like hitting off astro turf.
