What is the new housing development by Stafford Castle called please? I have Cstle View stuck in my head but that's the one at the old Universal site in Doxey.

Do you mean Castlefields? That's the one where you turn off at the roundabout the Newport Road by the Rugby Club. Some of us still think of that as 'new'..

The one opposite Sundown Drive, just off the Newport Road. Near the motorway bridge. Having a nightmare using the Internet on this pesky phone and thought one of the forumites might know.
I also class Castlefields as new, remember it being built when I was at BWH back in the 90s.

I'm afraid that I didn't even know they were building there. Last time I went past I just looked like a subsoil tipping operation, apparently associated with the Golf Club - we did have thread dedicated to it - http://www.staffordforum.com/xf/ind...oing-on-in-the-field-next-to-the-castle.2341/

Thanks for your help. I must be mistaken. Haven't been up there for ages. Was asking on behalf of a friend who wants to move to a new build. We won't move again, it's too much like hard work.

It might be worth having a look to see if they really are building - I'ld be expecting them to be advertising a bit once they've started and there is nothing that I can find about it. My understanding was that it was just a sort of land-fill operation associated with the intended golf club extension - but, as I said, I haven't been past there for a while now..

Yes, it's the extension of the golf course and a new clubhouse being built there.

Once complete (at this rate never) there will be new houses built on what is now the clubhouse.

Castle House Drive (not to be confused with Castle House Gardens - 22 years old now) was built around 8 years ago on the old MAFF offices site, if you're on about them? ... The "Castle House" was retained after local opposition to demolition and turned into appartments too.
