Aye I assume it'll be the top room as last time I went there was about 5 people, that looked 16- 10 years ago it was rammed but for some reason everyone started to go casa, (which the older population use to go mostly) now it's poptastic

The only thing I can think that would suggest it isn't Couture / Top of the World is I'm sure the capacity of the main 'ball room' is much bigger (This says capacity of 900) but I've no idea what the current configuration is.

For reference and comparison the capacity of RedRum is 150 so you're looking at something 3 times the size of that.

Quite a few tribute bands have visited The Gatehouse, i wonder if they will lose out.

Any good will I had towards the Gatehouse has evaporated since the current excitement, so I'm finding it difficult to care of they do lose out right now.

When we get onto talking about big music events in Stafford I always tend to think they will pay off as they will stope people going to Wolves or Stoke in search of acts. Coming out of all of this madness there will be people who are hungry for live entertainment and, going by some of the talent I've seen online during lockdown, there's enough willing artists out there to fill such places.

Tbh , with the biggest national night club chain on the verge of collapse , along with revs, we might find coming out of this nightmare, were only left with the independent venues. I guess we're lucky , having Redrum, casa and the couture building, and to a lesser extent Hogarth's which all hopefully will weather the storm so long as their rent isn't crippling them.

I know couture own their building, so they should do ok, same as post house, they also own it.

I thought chains with big money behind them had more chance than small independant bars etc?

And couture didn't seem to bothered they've not opened since it started lockdown 1, where as casa turned themselves into a "bar" so they could open, so you're right there

I'm surprised more pubs havn't closed already, hopefully it stays like that- but this time of year is easily the biggest income for them, january/feb always goes quiet anyway, corona or not

I believe Hogarths and the posthouse will be ok, purely because over a million was spent on both, so they've obviously got the money.

The rooms to rent next door to Casa are owned by the same person, so I think it is the couture building that will have the joy of being the tribute band mecca.

Ladies and Gentleman...... All the way from Fegg Hayes please give a luke warm Stafford welcome to Britney Spires.

The problem with big chains is each venue has a certain amount of debt, insignificant on its own, and manageable when money is flowing in every week. One venue might not make money that week, another may have an event on generating surplus money that can bail the other out.

No money means the loss making venues, are really loss making, raking up larger interest debts on money owed, along with hundreds of thousands on staff costs, even though furloughs in place.

With no money coming in, their debt pile is unfortunately soaring and crippling / killing the viable ones futures.

Ah I see thank you, makes sense

I wonder if that's the case- if spoons will still have 2 open in town?? I mean they was going to close butlers bell at one point, and after all the fancy work done at the "old spoons" bit more competition up there with hogarths

Hopefully not but we'll have to wait and see, don't think we'll be out of tier 3 before the new year by the looks of it,spoons will do ok then(when we eventually get to tier 2) because it's one of the places that do food I know there's many that do, but it's a popular place for that too.

I see there will be mass testing soon, but I have my doubts to how many people will actually use it.

Weren't Pizza Express in debt to the tune of £1.2 million a restaurant when they restructured? An independent is never going to have that level of debt.

Ever wondered why, after all the amazing universal innovation and technological advances, we are still so utterly and completelyfucked in this world?

It's called, amongst many other names, venture capitalism - or asset stripping

Just 7% own 51% of all the world's wealth, land and property

How big is YOUR yacht ..

It's more Vulture Capitalism at this point.

Coming out of the heart of your problems, let's give it up for the Sloane Roses *cheers*

I’ve heard from someone in the Industry that this venue is the old Joules building in Stone.

If you look at the original post, taken from the Facebook page, it does say Staffordshire and not Stafford.
