How very bizarre.

I have never really been a sewing type person but after the unprecedented success of my stuffed duck doorstop I have been of late purchasing material and have been making pretty bunting for our village marquees and various garden tea parties that are taking place in the summer in our village.

So I may pop into the Guildhall to see how mine compare to a professional version.

Well I havent made the bunting yet, just made loads of triangles.

You have painted such an evocative picture of village life. Unfortunately, schooled as I am in Midsummer Murders, I fear a grizzly murder or three is inevitable. Be very careful around the bunting. In the wrong hands it can become a fearsome weapon.

Oh Flossie love, it's just like that here.

When we have our village events we always say it's just like Midsommer Murders .......but without the murder.

My friend thinks I live in St Mary Mead which is another programme entirely but you get the picture.

So far.

You are taking a terrible risk with bunting. You'll be telling us next you have joined the village choir. Now that is just tantamount to signing your own death warrant.

I think we are taking a terrible risk entering the best kept village competition.

Anyone of us could be done over with a hanging basket by a rival.

It's just too too terrible to contemplate really but one has to carry on.

I thought there was a thread for new shops etc, sorry to admin but I could not find out.

Thought I'd seperate this as it seems to be on the closed shops thread alot.

New shops coming-

-British Heart Foundation, Electrical/ Furniture Store at 12 and 13 Princess Street (old card and Farmfoods Shops)
-Stafford Photo Shop- Salter Street (Direct Specs)
-Walter Mill- is reopening as something again I hear.
- as is another premises at the top of Mill Street a bit down from GMB, women's clothes shop I hear?
-Furniture Place next to Sun Inn which has closed to alleged severe rent arrears will be taken over by a care team company.
-Esprei on Martin Street has been sold ??
-old Ethel Austin is being decked out as we speak into a very stylish looking furniture and rug store.
-old Pelo is going to open up, do not know as what but it is not Costa Coffee.
-most of the ground floor shops at the new council buildings will open in the new year.

Rumor:
-Revolution at Chicago Rock??
-GAP at building next to Toni and Guy, although work seems to have stopped on that??
-Chambers/ Victoria Chambers??
Inkpot Galleria, 8 Church Lane:)

Workmen activity today in the double fronted shop that has been empty for as long as I can remember (opposite Bella Italia) .
I know from job hunting at the mo that shops we are soon to have in Stafford include a Co op pharmacy and a baby clothes shop - so maybe one of these?

That would be almost opposite Superdrug, maybe not the best place for a new pharmacy..
