Do your immediate neighbours have a supply? If so, then you may just have a local, possibly even internal, freeze.

Yes neighbours have water , been going round 3 - 4 times a day for bucketfulls , cant understand why we seem to be the only ones.

You have a frozen supply pipe then, probably. It's often a problem with the tap in the street. If you know which is your tap in the road, usually in the path at your entrance, then flip up the cover, remove the foam plug and pour warm water down onto the tap. It may take some time. When you replace the foam plug make sure that it is a snug fit across the access pipe - most of them are just stuffed in the hole with no thought...

It's not impossible that the freeze is in the house, especially if the pipe comes up against an outside wall, usually under the sink.

No guarantees with any of this..

YIPPEEEEEEEEEE. we have water , the council have just been round. 3 minutes was all he took with an electric fan heater under the sink....he said a hairdryer will be fine if anyone else has trouble on here. Mine was the pipe coming through the floor under the sink, so a hairdryer 12" away will suffice. My faith has been duly restored in SARH.

You could try leaving the cupboard door ajar whilst we have this sort of weather. Let a bit of warmth in.

I've had to resort to cider as I can't have a coffee! Well I could, but it'd take a while to fill the kettle!

I noticed a much reduced pressure here last night and this morning and couldn't get through to them on the phone either.
Oh well, great stuff, muddy water later then once it's fixed I suppose!! :(

Slight change of subject, but whilst on their website I learned of something new. If anyone has medical conditions or at least 3 kids under 19 at home and received certain benefits like Income Support, Tax Credits or Housing benefits AND is on a water meter... did you know that you are entitled to have your annual bill capped at around £300 so that you pay no more? If you're metered bill is less you still pay the lower amount.
It's called WaterSure so look it up on their website in the Households section if this applies to you. ;)
