Well I have to admit to being extremely late to this party but we got there eventually.

Went the other week for Downton Abbey,
Had a lovely bite to eat in Zizzi, surrounded by gorgeous young people, then popped over to the cinema for the film.
Loved the cinema, loved the film.

Then today I was introduced to The Wrinkly Tuesday Cinema Event.
Every Tues at 11.00am all seats £4.00 (£4.75 if booked online), free coffee and biscuits.
What a lovely way to spend a few hours in the middle of a rainy day. I bumped into a few people that I knew, and got talking to people that I didn’t know before.
The film was great too....”Yesterday”, The Danny Boyle Beatles film.

I’ve already booked my seat for next Tuesday.
This is going to be my new thing and to hell with the housework.

Agree it's a fantastic cinema, great addition to the town centre, just hope they remain active in getting those seats filled during quiet periods, but so far so good!

Odeon Luxe Stafford, along with the rest of the group has closed with immediate effect.

Refunds for pre purchased tickets and passes are being done automatically.

Dunno where this places Odeon in the UK market, but looks like the parent company in American is going to hit the wall :(

It is beyond belief that 'the market' could be so short-sighted as to abandon hope so easily.

It's almost like placing all of our trust in it has been misguided.

If only 'the market' had spent the last twenty years accumulating a massive amount of 'money' that could perhaps be used on a 'rainy day'.

But, obviously, 'the market' is living paycheck to paycheck like the rest of us.

Well when you get taxed on what you don’t spend, you try not to hoard too much cash I imagine.

What you do is spend all your profits on servicing debt from a 'parent' company that is little more than a brass name plate on a post office box in Luxembourg.

    Or London.

Or Cayman Islands, or Barbados, or Malta, or...

Which has come to bite the behind of the self-employed that have been 'advised' to minimise profit by overstating overheads.

Turnover schmernover - read it and weep, boys.

Funniest thing to come out of this is the capitalists demanding aid, I thought they hated such commie ideas?
