What are the old wives tales you got told by your parents, grandparents etc?

At work all the women won't cross you on the stairs as they think it is bad luck!

There are loads of football superstitions.

When me and my mates used to go and watch the wolves as kidz we used to have loads. We used to sit the same way on the train, go to maccys in wolves town centre and have the same thing then go in the same working mans club and have two pints of different beers (which would put us well on our way!) the sing the same songs before the match!

It never worked as wolves normally always drew or lost!!

yeah, i know loads of people who won't do this..

someone i knew used to have to hold on to her collar if she saw the back of an ambulance, and wouldn't let go until she saw a four legged animal.. at least, i think that's how it went..

i remember me and tommy t trying to keep up with her once, but as he was driving at the time it became quite difficult.. i had to change gears for him, as his left hand was clinging onto his collar while we desperately searched for a field of cows or similar lol..
