Parking on pavements to become unlawful.

We need fewer cars on the road and indeed, we should ban people from keeping cars if they don't have a private parking space* to keep them on. Cars SHOULD NOT be parked on the road, or the pavement. These are places for the public to use and not for selfish people to leave several tons of their own junk on.

*And no, paving over your front garden should not be permitted.
Tell me you're a Tory without saying you are. FML!

So poor people shouldn't have cars, got it. Are the rich going to pick up the tax bill for all the lost fuel duty?

Oh do sod off!

What are those of us that live in Castletown meant to do then? There's a good 14 homes along the Doxey Road that have grass and yellow lines outside them. We all have to hope we find a parking space.

Enjoying a drop of red.
What public transport, the train from Stone to Stafford has been cut and there are NO buses my side of stone. Nearest bus stop is about a mile away
Well that's your problem isn't it. No excuse to park your several tons of junk on the road and don't even think of committing the environmental equivalent of the Holocaust by paving over your own lawn.

If you want a car, work harder so you can afford to buy a decent house.

There. That doesn't sound unreasonable, does it.

Sell your car, obvs.

Then either use pubic transport or walk.
I'd love to. Just let me know how I will get to Brierley Hill for 6.40 am and I'll be all over it.

In general I agree that walking and public transport along with cycling should be the de facto modes of transport for us all in most cases, but that assumes there is a public transport service.

I own my own house.
I have my own garden.
I have off street parking.
I have an electric car.
I have solar panels.
I have house batteries.

Now get back on your bike and shut up.

So, you have the right to block the road with your two tons of personal transport.

Nah, you don't. If you don't have a parking space, find one. If that means renting a piece of private land, then that's what you should do.

When they built the railway line to Newport, they didn't put a station in at Haughton as they couldnt believe anyone would use it given how short the walk into town was.

Walk a mile....blimey, what a hardship.

Yep, got all of those things thankfully. Comes of working smart and not wasting money on rubbish things like Children, drinking, drugs and the likes.
