I am spending 2 weeks at a fireservice rehabilitation centre in the Lakes. If you ever wondered what the money that is raised by washing your car, is spent on, it's this! I came up in September, and despite being fantastic, they also confirmed during my initial assessment this morning, was very beneficial!

I am doing a walk in June to raise money for the National Fireservice Charity, so that other people can benefit from this fantastic facility. Anyone in the fireservice community can come; whether cook, cleaner or firefighter. They also serve the family of eligable people, and retired fire staff. The only problem for me, is that this fantastic facility is not open to everyone. It has taken a lot of hard work, effort and tin collecting, to get the facility up to this; I am the last person to dis' the NHS, (He owes his life to it! Ed) but specific physio therapy was only available to me once or twice a week, where as here I get it on 5 days, 9.00 am till 5.00 pm!

I met some fantastic folk in hospital, and I can't help wondering how facilities like this would have helped them! Still I am here, there is no point worrying what might or should be, just be sure that next time you take your car to a charity car wash at the firestation, or somebody points a collecting tin in your direction, you are doing a fantastic thing, when you put a penny or two in!

(there endeth the lesson of st Gon2seed! Thank god Ed)

Middle weekend. Time to relax! I am probably going to Cntre Parks, Winfell Forest, tomorrow, on the local bus. Just hope I can get in without paying, like last time. (I travelled with some people who work their((A lot of East Europeans)), so when they got off the bus, so did I. Straight through the entrance! Only downside was I had forgotten to take my trunks! Still I can remedy that tomorrow!

Fantastic week, achieving so much, It might seem small, but I can put my trousers on now without having to lean on something. Fancy stuff? The highlight of the week for me, was the quiz night. Last time I was here I was the dead wood in my team, just could not remember the answers. This time I played a full part, and even was a bit of a star in the Natural History round (even if he says so himself! Ed)

So hummbling to be here, there is someone who had a brain tumour removed, people with heart problems, ect Whatever my injury, it makes me realise how lucky I am.

Got to go, I am walking into town to buy the families prezies! Next Time

PS Went on the local bus too the end of Ulleswater, didn't attempt Helvelyn cos' it was raining, but had a great time!

Went to Centre Parks. The Security Guard had me worried, but I kept looking down and following the 20 or so staff in, shouldn't have been panicking, breezed in! Saw a few of the people who had been on the bus, round and about the place. Bought an ice cream, very nice! off one fella, and was watched by another acting as lifesaver, while I decended a shoot! All in all, it was a very good experience, just as well I remebered to take my trunks this time!

I have too say, I think this one is edged by Sherwood Forrest. Me and the family went to this one this spring. Sorry this is not a dig, but this was free and gratis as well. 10 of my coleagues cycled to Barmouth to raise money for the Fireservice Charity, Air Ambulance, and me. When I started recovering, I said the last thing I wanted was any money; but was told that the money had been raised when people couldn't be certain what sort of recovery I'd make, (if any! Ed) So I did the sensible thing, and as my accident had deprived the family of a holiday the year previous; Mrs Seed co-ordinated with a work coleague, and off we went. It would have been embarrassing to go back to the donors and say her is a third of your cash back!

As I am never tired of saying, if you are going to throw yourself from a hieght, make sure you are employed by the british fire service! My work and colleagues have been nothing short of fantastic.
