I love Rowan Atkinson but not keen on Mr Bean ... funny the first time but then I got bored with him. He is a comedy genius (Rowan not Bean).

Steve Coogan, Ricky Gervaise, several people called Russell (Russell Harty is as obnoxious as Russell Brand, Russell Grant isn't much better, neither is Russell Crowe). Mind you, I like Miranda, "Mrs Brown" (as in Boys rather than Queen Victoria) and Sandy Toksvig.

I never listen to Radio 2 (apart from Brian Matthew, obviously), but I do have to keep the schedule in mind, as several shops in Stafford have it on and I am unable to bear the onslaught of Jeremy Vile and his "audio-Daily-Mail" vitriol.

In 1965, the BBC played this short sketch in Round the Horne.

Hello, BBC.
Ah, would you be Jimmy Young?
Certainly not! Would you?
No! Not for a million pounds.

Fifty years on and it's actually worse. I didn't think it was possible.

Enjoying a drop of red.
Tony Blackburn :barf:

Never could stand him.

The people who grate the most with me are sports 'personalities' and showbiz 'personalities' who think that just because they have a bit of fame we are all passionately interested in their opinions on politics or life in general. A stand-out 'personality' at the moment for committing this particular crime is Benedict Cumberbatch. I love Sherlock, but clearly Cumberbatch is a grade A twat.

I don't know much about him except that he's a funny looking bugger.

Another one guilty of the crime you mention is of course David Beckham.

The ones you expect to be twats are usually just shy and surprisingly OK and the ones you quite like are often, but not always, twats .

Never meet your heroes
