Petrol stations in Stafford

Any recommendations? Any to avoid? Need to fill up again, used the closest last time (shell on eccy road) but it seemed to be pricey probably as nearest the motorway. It's for diesel, the bike hasn't been filled up in at least 6 months!

Asda or Tesco diesel is perfectly fine and cheap(er).

I like BP, as I'm lazy, it's on my way home. BP do some sort of points card, never used it though.

You can collect Tesco club card points With Esso & Tesco petrol stations. Plus Tesco sometimes give you coupons off petrol with a £60 spend in store.

You can collect Nectar (Sainsbury's) points at Texaco and Sainsbury's petrol stations, and also receive money off petrol coupons from Sainsbury's when the promotion is running.

Shell also has its own points card.

I find Asda is usually cheapest then Tesco but alledgedly some cars don't like supermarket petrol but not if the same applies to diesel.

The difference in cost doesn't really amount to a great deal when you work it out for a tankful and then how much you may burn getting there to be honest.

I always used Asda in the past. It was convenient.

The average town running car isn’t going to see any benefit from some expensive superfuel bollocks.

My commute is 70% motorway, 25% A roads and 5% residential streets, I do 60 miles a day 3 days a week. So while not massive amounts there is little town driving as I live in walking distance.

It's been consistently under the Sandon Road Shell since that changed hands a few years ago. At one point, the difference was 6p/litre - that's about 27p/gallon - some of us can remember buying petrol at not much more than that...
Yes. I have to be on fumes before I go to Sandon Road.

I will have you know it has pretty much gone for today. The folk from the north of the lake can rejoin society and stock up with beans.

I nearly always go to Asda, mainly for convenience, do a bit of shopping while i'm there, bung the car in for a wash.
What I didn't realise tho is, how blooming lonely it is at 4am, I was on a night shift a bit ago, needed diesel and knew I'd be in no fit state go after work, all I want do is go home and then bed. I was the only 1 there at that time in a morning,
Won't be doing that again in a hurry.........

By town running car I mean you’re not driving some £130,000 Porsche :keke:

This.

I've never been 'tied' to going to one petrol station; I just use whatever I'm passing.

Having said that, I've started filling up (whether I need to or not) during unused contingency time on my weekly trip to Edgbaston. And I get Tesco points.
