I can think of someone not too far from here whos front door's been bashed in so many times by the drugs squad,he had get a new 1 fitted. Old one's just been chucked in the back garden. Just hope next time they do a raid, they get his house and not mine!

If it was crack cocaine or some nasty smack shizzle, all well and good, but for a bit of weed, it's a bit OTT.

Putting my cynics hat on, I might suggest that it could be that the presence of the Chief Constable could imply that they might know that it would be a fairly quiet affair and it's also possible that the more serious offenders might let it be known when and where the small fry might be available...

Possibly.

I must admit I did think it just looked like a couple of bags of skunk. In the grand scale of things that doesn't bother me that much. If it were crack or heroin then it would have been much more important. I hate heroin, its evil stuff and there cant be any punishment strong enough for the scumbags that supply and sell it.

Good to see the CC in action and i'm guessing fido didn't appreciate a face full of fire extinguisher.

Paper today said suspected growers, but they were definately just dealers from the video otherwise we'd have seen the plants. It was a PR exercise after all, they bust bigger things than that weekly but you don't hear about them. No more than 8 bags in the evidence, certainly none bigger than 1/2 an oz each (and I'm guessing quarters myself as they don't seem very fat). As alluded to by Gramaisc I suspect this was the bigger boys throwing the cops a bone, nice little promo for the force.

So 2-4 ounces of weed off the street, 2 people with criminal records that cost a lot to process, then the fact their chances of employment are screwed up so a life on benefits. I'd rather my tax money was spent on something more useful TBH, although I don't really agree with keeping dogs in a flat so they should get a rap on the knuckles for that!

Two arrests were made by police when they swooped on a flat in Staffordshire and found a large stash of cannabis.
....
Police believe the cannabis was being harvested with intent to be supplied to others.
Officers emerged from the top-floor flat with six small bags of cannabis. No street value has yet been estimated for the drugs, officers added.
.....
Two big dogs were controlled and officers have conducted a methodical search of the property, with there being evidence of cannabis misuse.”
.....
A 19-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man arrested under the Misuse of Drugs Act have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Large stash/being harvested vs. six small bags, misuse of drugs act.

They got a few small time dealers, probably sell enough to fund their own smoke and thats about it. Why they put this out on video yet ignore the big grow in Wheaton Aston is beyond me, it makes them look like a bunch of incompetants in all honesty. If you want to send a message then at least show you are something to be feared, these guys will get a rap on the knuckles and a caution at best.

Serious waste of taxpayers money, used as a glory exercise for the head honcho. This is the sort of thing they should be bragging about, not a few youths with a bunch of ten bags.

Don't worry too much - it's just a bit of PR.
