Price premium for even-numbered houses?

An open invitation to burgle no 5. "Police and Crime Commissioner Sir Clive Loader said he was unaware of the idea" so the PCC is a waste of time/money also. :better: :britain:

Ok - holy thread resurrection etc etc - but to get to the point, does your road / street NOT have a number 13 ? I noticed that Reva Road doesn’t have a no. 13. The odd numbered side skips from 11 to 15. Surprised that the council would pander to superstition with the numbering of houses.

Many years ago, I noticed there was no No. 13 in Winchester Court in Wildwood.

North Castle Street used to have a door number '0'. The number is missing from 2023 Google Maps but I'm sure I walked passed the place earlier this year and they've put up a plaque with the word 'Zero' on to replace it.

I think most streets over about fifty years ago will have a number 13 but more recent ones, including where I moved to a new house in 1979 and 1992, won't.
And streets of any age with no more than a dozen houses will NOT have a number 13 !

I worked with a strange bloke who wouldn't leave the house on any Friday the 13th. He would always book them off at the start of the year. His aim was to avoid even the risk of coming downstairs at such a dangerous time. He would arrange supplies, flasks and food, to be available in the bedroom and stay safely in bed for as much of the 24 hour danger period as possible.

Sounds perfect. I have the weeks booked off for when the clocks change. I won't ever have to work those shifts if I play my cards right.

Most hotels don’t have a 13th floor, just skip from 12 to 14, same as cruise ships.
Our road hasn't got a no.13. Confuses the delivery drivers & posties as ours is the only one with a clear number displayed, so they count along from ours .

Thinking about the hotel room number we're in right now ( same one as xmas by chance)... 2nd floor...213......so room 13 on 2nd floor 😳😂

Being slightly superstitious, now thinking of hubby's heart condition going rapidly downhill since Xmas....maybe this bloody room 13 ! 🤔
