Thanks for the gen

Is there any likelyhood of any new blood on the board of directors?

From the outside there does appear to be a need for a good business mind, a marketing individual and someone to communicate all of that

Not the bloke to ask I am afraid, I hope so, as you seem to have a good point/s. They had someone new last year, Lorna, who has looked after PR/Marketing ect (not on the board). She along side the new secretary will hopefully continue her, (by all accounts!) sterling work so far!

My dad's been going for over 60 so they will know each other. I'm going into my 35/36th-ish.

Yes, Lorna Beeby is our Commercial Manager who goes about her job very well as far as I've seen as I worked with her n the festival. Try being a Commercial Manager of a relegated club during a difficult financial period, not easy! We also hope to get a new Manager in so we can get a squad together as at least 3 players have already left and none come in as theres nobody to sign them.

Useful information. Thanks

Y'know, I had no idea that it was possible to buy a season ticket for a club like Stafford Rangers. I'm not trying to be funny, I just hadn't really given it any thought. However, £170 a season to watch the Rangers seems pretty steep to me? I mean, my mate is a Villa fan and he pays around £265 for his season ticket at Villa Park.

Obviously as a Liverpool fan I can only dream of the day when the season ticket waiting list is re-opened so that I can get on the c20 year waiting lsit to part with my £800!

Fair comment

sadly the business model of AVFC is based on TV rights

SRFC TV rights dont extend beyond Grimebusters

Hence the relative high price

Nearly right... its the other way around...

A very small corner of the ticket office is in England and thats it... but as the story goes, because the letter box is in that corner then the address is an English one. :)

Looks like Google have the border slightly out... but you can see how close it is:

I'm happy to see the prices come down and sometimes I think it wouldn't hurt to bring them down a bit further to perhaps encourage more people to come down.

A club like Rangers is always in need of cash, and in the absence of a Russian sugar daddy or the sale of another Collymore, there are limited ways we're going to get it.

We seem to be stuck in a chicken and egg situation - fans don't come and watch because we're not playing that well - we're not playing that well because we have no money for players - because we have no money for players, we're not playing that well, and so on.

If we dropped the price a bit, maybe more people would come out, generating more of an atmosphere in the ground, leading to the players being lifted and inspired (never underestimate the power of a good crowd) leading to results, leading to more people coming to watch, leading to money which we can use some of to build a better squad and keep building.

I know it's not that simple for the whole sherbang, but surely it's a step in the right direction - after all, it is a football club.

I only caught the last few home games of last season and have to say was a bit disappointed with the low turnout.

A lowering of price is definitely a plus for me, i'm not exactly rolling in it, and i'm more likely to go to more matches next season on the back of it (in part at least).

I guess it must be very difficult to find the right balance - 'twill be interesting to see if it makes a difference to the gate in the first couple of games next season.

Sadly the difference won't be felt I don't think unless they win their first couple of games. When we dropped down to this level in the mid 90s, attendances fell and we were on a bad run and looked to be relegated again - then when we started putting together the unbeaten 23 league game sequence, the crowds started coming back.

Haven't Rangers got a nice "new" sparkly coach tho? Things may be on the up with him aboard?

At least you should have some decent away followings next season... FCUM, my lot, Hednesford and Northwich should all bring a sizeable crowd....

Problem is the police bill will probably outweigh the income from the extra fans...
