Pubs Showing 6 Nations

Possibly should be in sport but...

Does anyone know of anywhere in the town centre showing the rugby over the next few weeks? Preferably somewhere that's not too small, not too crowded and has decent sound.

Previous years have included watching the rugby at:
Wetherspoons : terrible sound, if on at all
Railway: crowded
Yard: crowded
Litten Tree: closed

What are the chances of somewhere like The Met showing the rugby over the football?

Stafford Ale House has all the Six Nations matches on, I believe...

..although, I can find no evidence to offer you - maybe I saw it when I was in there today..

Thanks for your helpful and relevant response Gramaisc, we may well end up in Stafford ale house later today.

I certainly won't be heading for the top of Everest.

Got Mrs Trumpet's son and rugby mad daughter tickets for the England France game for Christmas. Just reading this has hatched a cunning plan for an afternoon / evening in the pub. Will suggest we watch the match on a big screen just in case she's able to spot the kids on TV. Winner.

Having no Rangers game to go to and having some spare time on my hands I, along with some mates, decided to make an early start so, when considering where to watch the England V France game yesterday, I rang The Butlers Bell to see if they were showing it. Response - "we're not sure yet, it depends how busy we are and if not too busy we'll have it on as when we put the big screen down we lose 4 tables. " I would've thought there may be more in the pub to more than balance that out? We ended up going to the Greyhound instead. View of two decent pictures, friendly atmosphere and decent beer. INVEST IN THE LOCAL!
