I'm doing out a utility room and have had it plaster boarded, does anyone know anything about fitting kitchen cupbaords on to plasterboarded walls. The one corner cupboard is very heavy and im worried it will just put the wall down.

Any one know anyone that knows anything about this sort of thing or has done it/had it done/ knows anyone that can do it.

Wise other half says you either need to get plaster board screws ( which can hold a fair bit if weight )

Or ideally screw into the stud work that the plaster board has been attached to!

Hope this helps xxx

Thanks i've been reading about plaster board screws,I did'nt know if they would manage the weight i'm a bit reassured now. I think i'll have to get a man in that does. I'ts a bit much for me to tackle.

I would guess your utility will still have brick walls behind the plasterboard, assuming you live at the same place still. If so then it's just a case of using long screws with plugs as normal and fixing into the brick behind.

Thanks yes still same place - i'm just concerned that there is too much of a gap bewtween the brick and the plaster board - how long can you get screws.

Definitely go into 'proper structure', if you have the option.

There are people around who will attach cupboards to walls with No Nails.

I still haven't got these cupboards up on the wall - anyone know a reasonably priced handy man (I’m a bit broke cause of all the Christmas presents I’ve brought for my lovely grown up children (tek's brother said that he wanted me to be his mum when he saw my 2 kids Christmas list.) I just want the cupboards done now I’m sick of seeing them sitting on the top of the base cupboards.

I don’t want to pay more than one hundred pounds for the job.

thanks for all the info on this i've still not got it done - being a mere female and not having the skills to drill walls and lift cupboards i def need a man.
