Stafford Rangers drew yesterday with league leaders, Fleetwood Town.

Making his debut for Stafford Rangers was Port Vale's Danny Glover, who has been told his contract will not be renewed at the end of the season, after making 40 appearances in League One & Two in the past two seasons.

The Cod's star player, Sean Clancy was taken to Stafford Hospital (eek) with concussion after clashing with ex-Fleetwood rightback, Ashley Wooliscroft.

Rangers created chances early on, with right winger, Dom Merella crossing a ball into the box, only for Levi Reid to put the ball into the hands of the keeper. Moments later debutant striker Danny Glover flicked a superb ball from the half way line onto Dom Merella who again beat the left back, and Levi Reid cooly slotted the ball into the back of the net.

Stafford managed to stop several Fleetwood attacks, and went in at half-time delighted with a 1-0 lead over the Blue Square North title chasing side.

9 minutes into the 2nd half, Fleetwood got one back, but Stafford we're quick to reply, with Captain Nick Wellecomme scoring 2 minutes later.

The re-taken lead did not last for long, as the league's top scorer, Adam Warlow, grabbed his second goal of the game, and 24th of the season for the visitors.

Both sides could have grabbed a winner, but Stafford were delighted to take a point from the game.

Rangers face Vauxhall Motors at home this coming Saturday, if anyone is interested in coming down to Marston Road.

Came under abuse from some "supporters" and decided not to travel on Monday sadly.

A player who has given a lot to the club, and I am very glad that he has returned for todays match away at Gloucester City

I sometimes wonder how this line is policed in the 'field' ..when it comes to the difference between sporting banter .. and threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour likely to cause etc etc
