Rangers edge closer away from drop zone

Stafford Rangers today managed to take a point from promotion chasing Stalybridge Celtic away from home today. Within 15 minutes Stafford were 1-0 down, and there was more misery when Celtic doubled their lead in the 37th minute. With the match statistics firmly in the favour of the home side, with Stafford having only a handful of shots in the first 45, the outlook did not look good for the team. Coming out at half time, on-loan Stoke City striker, Warwick Alexander, was replaced by Football League Veteran Tony Dinning, who returned to action, having been sidelined for a month after being involved in a car-accident. The switch proved a good one for Rangers, who managed to get a goal back through Congo winger, Fabrice Kasiama, in the 54th minute. Still under heaving attacking pressure from Stalybridge, Stafford got a second goal through hometown midfielder, Tom Thorley, who scored from 20 yards in the 79th minute. In the 90th minute Rangers were forced to hold their breath, as they conceded a penalty. Graeme Law's shot was saved by Stafford Rangers Lee Evans, who ensured Rangers took a point from the game. The result continues Stafford's excellent start to the new year, taking 10 points from the past 5 games, having won 3, drawn 1 and lost 1. Stafford remain in 12th out of 22 in the Blue Square North.

Just letting those know who may not otherwise know, sorry if you get fed up of um' :)
Not in the slightest, just suggesting that you might like to use a traditional style tag-line...

Keep it up.

Looks that way, sounds a good point they got, didn't make the long travel up north, but we did take about 30 odd fans.

One odd fan worth a hundred merely ordinary fans any day

We must be very close to the top of the odd fan league

You have obviously met them! Worry not, Liam aside, 'Boro have enough 'odd' fans to go round!

Some might say "you'd have to be odd, to be a fan!" so I'll get there before anyone makes that laim joke!

Northwich 2 - 2 Rangers

Another point closer to safety - although at the rate of club failures there could actually be nil teams relegated ( writes a man in my ear )

1st half they could have been 3-0 up, second half we could have scored 3! Either way, 2-2, a good result for Stafford which see's us at realistic safety from the drop. SRFC face Ilkeston Town at home on Saturday at Marston Road :)
