First of all i would like to say their maybe alot to read im not sure but the information provided should help alot of people im not to sure you might already know this but its for thoses who don't. To make it more understandable im adding screenshots and better explainations of what i was trying to see in my older (rushed) post. So please dont hesitate to read on even though their is alot to read / see!! Please enjoy and i hope it helps many of you.
First of all lets clarify how you can get these harmful things such as keyloggers, trojans , worms , viruses etc etc!! (later i explain what they do and what their "legally" made for).
Also i will be saying various ways you can get harmful things so you can try and avoid it first i will start of with the usual running a programme way! Also if you have a keylogger or whatever they usually run when you start your pc so they MUST be removed

Ok so many of you may know many people make programme's and attach harmful nasty things which you wouldn't want my first tip to you is if you download something try scanning it at www.virustotal.com its a very helpful site.
You get viruses by running a .exe (its what runs the programme) and if their is a harmful file attached it will also run that. I will now show you how you can clarify whever the file is a .exe or not!

To get to them options right click any file then go to properties and left click it.
You should get the following :

Take a look at the highlighted text notice .exe so that means thats what you run to run the programme (thats what can have a harmful file atatched).
Their are many other types of files 2 other popular one's are .zip and .rar these contain the programme (the .exe) but its 100% safe to run a .rar or .zip you can find out by doing the same thing explained above but instead it would read at the end ".rar" or ".zip" i hope you are understanding me so far!
Keyloggers are programme's that run invisibly on your pc and record your every key you press so if you type in credit card details etc they will get hold of them (they can also take screenshots) an easy way to bypass this if you think you have a keylogger is to use the keyboard provided on most PC's mine's located at : start > all programme > accessories > accessibility on-screen keyboard aslong as they dont take screenshots its ok 
. Keyloggers are known as "spyware" for obvious reasons hence "spy" > "ware" (software) > spy software . Keyloggers legal use is to check out what your children are typing on the PC when your not their (security reasons).
Trojans are ALOT worse then keyloggers as trojans have built-in keyloggers (most do) and they can do very bad damage to your pc the worst thign is re-formatting your pc (everything on your pc is lost). i will post an example of what a trojan interface looks like and the diffrent options it has! (iv'e downloaded a trojan for legal purposes to help you guys). Trojans are "legally" made to access your PC from far away! Check out the functions of this trojan im guessing you understand what willl be in each sexction.

Viruses/worms well their purpose is to corrupt and ruin your PC that is their ONLY purpose they spread through your whole system corrupting everything. They are only made for destroying nothing else so these are the worst.
Diffrent type of web browsers :
Opera is a web browser i am always using as its very easy to use and in my opinion best out of IE or mozzila firefox. I will screenshot the 3 and post them below.
Opera :

Opera is good because :
- Easy to manage "bookmarks" (favourites)
- In my opinion runs faster then IE
- Good pop-up blocker
- Good for downloading files (very organised)
- Good pop-up blocker
Opera is bad because :
- Not as many featuers as the others (but still all you'll need)
- Sometimes sunjava or some things dont run correctly
- Sometimes it wont let you download files
IE :

- Easy to sort out favourite websites
- Nice interface
IE is bad because :
- Used by most people so hackers mainly exploit IE
- Not very good pop-up blocker
- Slower then the other browsers (debateable i think)
Mozzila firefox :

Good point i noticed was that instantly it asks if you want to import your favourites etc from a diffrent browser (so it saves alot of time)!!
From my experience i would say that i prefer Opera the most most probally because im used to it. You can make your choice from the screenshots, people's replys or my pointers but like i say mozilla could be the best (as it was voted the best).
Hints and tip to keep your PC secure :
- Run a FULL computer scan once a week minimum.
- Update / check for updates each week minimum (with your securitys).
- Scan files you download at www.virustotal.com it can prove useful.
- If you thinks somethings unsafe DO NOT open it without advice of people you know or a trustable website/forum you can ask!
When i think of more things to add they will be added i hope this as proved useful for all you people who worry. Writing this taking the screenshots, downloading the extra browsers etc etc wasn't easy this took me about 1-2 hours (maybe more!) believe it or not
