REFURBISHMENT AND
RE-NAMING OF THE PUB
As most of you know, the pub has been scheduled for a refurb for a while now. I am pleased to announce that work will commence on the back-of-house, painting of the exterior and maintenance of the exterior the week commencing 26th August. This will take approximately 1 week, for which the pub will remain open as Joxer Brady’s. The following week, commencing 2nd September, work on the interior of the pub will begin, and this will last for 5 days. The pub will be closed during this period. Therefore we schedule to re-open under our new name ‘Market Vaults’, on Saturday 7th September. As these things often take longer, if there is a change of re-opening date I will post on the windows of the pub and social media whenever I get an update.
We plan to have a great musician on to re-opening, so please come down and celebrate the next chapter in the history of this great pub!
I wish to thank you all for your custom and support in my first 6 weeks of running the pub, and I look forward to welcoming you all to our new and improved pub, which will still retain all the great character and live music of old.
Kind regards
Oli and the team

LIBRIUM Games

A few posts under my belt
Good luck Oli,
Fancy hosting a LIBRIUM Team Challenge after the refurb?
or... How about entering a Team called 'The Market Vaults' in this Monday's World Championships at The Sun, would be cheap marketing!

Steve.

I'm up for it - owning a set and having played it before probably puts me in good stead doesn't it?

Is the new name an old name?

If you catch my drift?

Its part new/part old. I don't want to do the author, John Connor, of 'Inns and Alehouses of Stafford' disservice by revealing too much, because he'll want to sell his books, but I'm very happy it's a historically sensitive and respectful name.

Is it true that you've got Ash Mandrake lined up for a gig in sept ? Some one told me about him a couple of months back and the you tube clips are interesting to say the least.

What are 'craft ales' ?

An American term for beers produced by small, independent breweries. If applied to in that sense in the UK it would include most of our breweries but it is frequently misused by small breweries that produce keg beers rather than draught ales.
