Without reading too much in to this yet, would there be much demand among the masses for a regular public I.T. fix-me-up-repair-cafe-drop-in-PAT-test-your-gadgets type thing?
A bit like the brilliant Stafford Repair Cafés but a bit more niche. Maybe one Saturday a month, or who knows.
Tech folk, computer shops, cafe's, coffee shops out there, would you be interested in collaborating, increasing your footfall, offering some time, space, tools, your staff, your money even, to help organise and resource such a thing?
Are there existing clubs >cough< Stafford Makerspace >cough< who would team up in a combined space?
Tech businesses who might want to set up a promotional stand advertising their services for follow-up support, who'd give a few free hours at a table in return?
Bear in mind this embryo really is no more than a twinkle in its father's eye at the moment though, and we'd have to be very strict about our time limitations and not end up taking extra work home with us.
