Rescue Me! Sky 1

OK its a bit obvious, a programme about firefighters and I love it, but it is so much more than a programme about boys in red engines. It's what London's burning, Steel River Blues, Backdraft, Ladder 49, etc never were, and some episodes you never even see a flame.

Don't know if anyone ever watches it, if you haven't started its now on series three, so you'll struggle to get into it.

Dennis Leary is the star and co creator, which is a huge plus in my book, so it's full of sex, drugs, and all the 'isms you could ever want. ... and you'll never see so many people smoking in a programme. (thats the little cancer sticks, not burning bodies.)

It's nothing like my job, but it gets closer than anything that I have seen on the small or large screen. They never stick any smoke alarms up, and they never have to go and talk to the Darby and Joan club about fire safety, damn them.

i've seen it advertised for years, but (firefighting not being a subject close to my heart) never got into it.. i watched it for the first time the other night, and defo enjoyed it.. although an obvious "hollywood irony", it was quite amusing when they were banned from smoking whilst on duty..

i quite like denis leary.. what was that film he was in, where he was a baddy chasing 4 white, middle class fellas across the ghetto? that was a right touch, if i remember rightly.. and those "he's an asshole" beer adverts he did years ago were well funny an' all..
