We happened to be that end of town last night and so we popped into Frankie and Bennies for tea.

The waiter there said that Coast to Coast had pulled out .....anyone any info on this?

I'm in danger of asking a stupid question, however how do you access the proposed 1st floor restaurants. F&B has an external staircase, however I can't see any obvious route to the other upper units unless the rest of the units are going to be 2 storeys with an internal staircase. Am I being stupid??

I didn't realise there even was an upstairs haha

Enjoying a drop of red.
A car park, that you have to drive up and down to access the different levels? Unbelievable!

A shop, that you have to enter via a door?

So to access the units you have to go uo the stairs and through a corridor in the car park. Unbelievable.

You have obviously never parked on a big multi storey car park in a shopping centre before then?

But to answer your question....you don't HAVE to go through the car park.

You can get to them from outside.

But please don't let the actual facts get in the way of you having a moan.

Yes, being forced to climb stairs is absolutely against the human rights law.
Not against the law, but as a wheelchair user I do find stairs a challenge.
My point, however, was not the stairs, or even the corridor, it was the issue identified by ChrisLewis above that the units are accessed through the car park. It is normal practice to build shops that can actually be accessed easily from the street.

As a non-driver I have never parked on a multi-storey car park, no. And at £1 an hour I would not park in that one anyway.

There is a wheelchair accessible door to Frankie & Bennys, to the left..

Since we sometimes need to navigate Riverside with a pushchair we've found the lack of ramps and the different levels makes for an interesting logistical challenge

As well as what Chris states the F&B is accessible from the street via 2 ways.

on the multi storey side there are steps up just off the low level bridge ( that has been there years), the steps are right in front of the entrance of nandos and lead directly up to frankie and bennys and the upper level bridge.

the restaurant can also be accessed from the upper level bridge that leads directly from m&s across the river to F&Bs

There you go easy peasy, no need for the negativity.

£1 an hour as well for parking...bloody hell it is criminal lol

How do I edit this?

There are lifts in the car park which allow wheelchair access.

Admittedly a ramp would have meant less hassle.

I'd just assumed the rest of the restaurant units were double height and they'd all be accessible from the river - so how many more units are we meant to have?
