I have an Apple TV. Any reason why I should buy a Roku LT?

Probably not!

Would that be any use for streaming Sky Go from my Nexus 7 to my TV?

Not sure TBH, this is more of a sort of channel thing than a streamer. Apparently sky have a channel on it but think its extra? There is a bit of a rundown here:

I'm after it purely as a plex box, so that my mum can watch my TV shows and movies without me carrying a USB stick over!

EDIT: Bit more info: http://www.roku.com/uk

Initial thoughts - very impressed! But I only want it for plex anyway, most of the free channels are gash!

Probably not much use to me then :(

I'm after being able to stream Apps, particularly Sky Go from Android. I have an Apple TV box and an iPad, but Sky Go won't work via airplay from iPad, which is fecking annoying.

So is sky go a native android app? If so maybe get a HDMI stick? I've got one myself, its just android on a TV. Works well, but a lot of things feel weird because you are using a remote rather than a touchscreen. Can't see a streaming app being an issue though.

Sky are very restrictive on the Sky Go app.... they only develop it for certain devices (i.e. mainstream handsets) and even then they don't allow DNLA or HDMI out.

HDMI out will work on Android, except on the Nexus 7 which doesn't have HDMI :ohno:

Hence my search for a way to stream to Apple TV from Android. None of the apps that claim to stream to ATV will stream anything other than the usual pre-packaged crap or Youtube or movies downloaded to the 7. I really need something that can mirror to Android TV or I'd be happy to go for some sort of Android TV if I could mirror on that.

Are you talking about Sky Go working on HDMI Out? Because I was.... As far as I know Sky Go will not work through HDMI Out on ANY Android phone..... You seem to be contradicting me but on a different point that I wasn't making....

As an aside - can't comment on the Nexus 7 (although a quick google confirms your point) but my HTC One doesn't have a specific HDMI Out so I use an MHL adapter to output from the micro USB port.
