Romanians in Stafford

I'm old enough to remember a famous cigar-smoker once saying "This will not affect the pound in your pocket.".
I remember him mostly as a pipe-smoker.

And it didn't, as long as you never left the country or bought anything foreign. If you did leave the country, you were only allowed to take fifty quid with you.

Indeed, it would appear we won't need to close our borders as it'll no longer be economically worthwhile to come in the first place!
One of 'my' Romanians, a fluent English, Spanish and Italian speaker, is currently learning German....

Just following up on my original question, it would certainly appear that Friars Terrace is the hub of the Romanian community with Tesco cashing in (Lefty liberals note: Romanians are defined as people born in Romania who speak Romanian).

Interestingly, perhaps, some of 'my' Romanians now live in Friar Street.

I wonder if they feel some special connection with defunct monasteries?

Romulans - keener on lipstick and blush than I'd have expected.

Granted that I'm not fluent but that looks more Polish than Romanian.
The red & white colour scheme might imply that, but it is patronised by many other Eastern Europeans, particularly Romanians. And the flag symbols in the window go way outside Europe.

The new Street View picture leads me to believe that it might actually be a Bulgarian operation.

Just looked on Companies House, the director (S Zoev; S Zoev Convenience Store) is Bulgarian.

Ah - that explains it - I was looking across the street at the Nasza Biedronka

As the other one just looked like a computer shop.
Ah, Our Ladybird is indeed Polish..

At the time of the original post, as mentioned, the Street View hadn't been updated to show what we now know to be a Bulgarian shop.
