I've just been back in daylight and have now seen what I presume to be the item in question - it is indeed still there.

I would suggest that maybe Andreas Rex or Sofa may be likely suspects.

Go and have a look. It took me two visits to actually see it, but it is quite obvious in the end. It's better in daylight, although, I imagine, quite visible in the dark when you know what you're looking for.
