Looks like major groundworks taking place in the field adjacent to Seighford airfield with what looks like a couple of underground tanks going in, access road being laid out etc.
Anyone here know what's afoot?

I remember reading something a few months back, lots of (shopping?) units being added...

"The application explains that the buildings would have pop holes at ground level to allow the birds to freely enter and exit the building between 08.00 and 21.00, and closing slightly earlier in the winter."

No mention of putting clocks on the outside of the buildings, so that the birds know what time it is.

You might not believe it but back in the day (50's, 60's) Seighford/Ranton area had a reputation as a UFO hotspot. Those birds could be 'aliens' in disguise. :P

(As a side my Old Man had a mate in the police force at the time who attended that incident. A very down to Earth ex 14th Army veteran. He told my Old Man that although there was nothing to see when they got there ... there was no doubt that the lady and kids involved were utterly terrified. )

Apparently (from a reliable source) it’s an underground fuel storage facility for the gliders.

Last thing I recall Seighford Hall being used for, was a nursing home, and in the 70's a nightclub! Yes really! David Edward Such, (of screaming Lord Such, Monster Raving Loony) stood in Stafford to be the MP. He stood for the 'Go to Blazes' party. A very thinly disguised advert for the nightclub, 'Blazes' at Seighford Hall. In the day, http://www.staffordforum.com/xf/ind...ast-a-reminder-of-staffords-past.2396/page-39
My source tells me the Hall will be a luxurious Spa, with 5 chalets in the extensive garden areas behind the hall, that have been re landscaped, as has the pond in front of the Hall. They have recently put a 'coming soon' board at the side of the road near the front entrance. I can't remember exactly what is advertised, but I think its along the lines outlines above! Watch That Space! ;)

Large advertising board has gone up outside, with illustrations of what is going to be on offer! With the following over the top! "Coming Soon, Your Dream Destination! And if it eventually looks like the illustration, it will certainly be luxurious! Today there were loads of cars outside. Would imagine there is still loads to do, so not surprised
