Small coaches for day hire

Does anyone know of a person or company that provides day trips on small sized coaches. We need a vehicle for this but all the well known companies do nothing smaller than 33. Help please.

I'll find out who Joxers hired for a trip last week - I think that sat 25 - also, there's a sign I noticed in the hardware shop on Weston Rd - but didn't jot down the details.

Leons spring to mind - they have smaller coaches, and definitely have some smaller than 33.

Shire Travel is another possible.

The cost difference between 24 and 33 for example isn't as great as you might think/hope. The costs are with the diesel and driver, something that doesn't fluctuate much between a few extra seats.

We have tried the big boys like Leon's and Happy Days but they have always insisted that 33 is the smallest. We had booked with Leon's to go to Liverpool but because a few dropped out we had to cancel as it was to expensive for a smaller group to pay, and they still hold a £50 deposit which we couldn't get back.

Curious about Leons. They certainly used to have smaller vehicles cos I've travelled on one!!

In which case a couple to try are Shire Travel - http://www.shiretravel.co.uk/index.php who can go down to 16 seats.

and Crusade Travel (Penkridge) similarly have down to 16 seats -

Ah, so they still do have minibuses - it wasn't all that long back when I went on a trip in one!

Their depot is on Tollgate Industrial Estate off Beaconside.

We've used http://www.bakerbus.com/ for a couple of corporate days in the past. Their executive mini coach is excellent and their drivers very accomodating.

Bakers have a good reputation and their fleet is v smart. Whether for a normal coach they'd be competitive on price with having to send the coach empty to/from Biddulph I don't know.

try momentum travel, they're just basically an agency who will source the coach for you and give you a price. very reasonable prices from my experience

I'm really grateful for your suggestions and will follow them up. As for Leon's, maybe they don't do a middle size, I know they do smallish ones for school runs etc., but we wanted seating for about 20.
