I had a bodyguard. I've probably now given away where I work, but it's the easiest post office to get to and just the right distance away to do it in my lunch break.

I think you more or less stated where you worked yonks ago but that would more or less confirm it though to the North West Walsall cognisenti.

My car is well frozen up - door handles only just operate and the seals were properly stuck...

Care may be needed in the morning.

It did look mighty frosty last night. I looked outside and my car had a sheet of ice on the roof that looked like that film you get over screens and other glossy surfaces on new electronics - except when it had been reapplied poorly and was all bumpy and crumpled up.

I've had the misfortune of travelling all the way to Ashton Under Lyne with Stafford Rangers, after being convinced by Ashton that our game would go ahead, only for a referee to turn up and cancel it at 2pm! 120 mile round trip in snow and rain for somebody to turn round and state the bleedin obvious!

I thought they were supposed to send local refs out to check on the pitch earlier in the day?

At least they didn't lose today.

I've checked the metoffice a few times today and the weather hasn't cleared, it's just shifted on by a couple of hours each time. Looks like we may get a load before bed time.

I signed up to the Met Office email weather warning alert scheme. I think that I've had at least one every day of this year, sometimes up to as many as four. Eventually, one of them will be true.
