A34 is probably going to be fun in the morning. Apparently it's down to one lane due to snow drifts.

Coming off the Redhill site tonight, the junction was quite bad and cars could only pull away quick enough for 2 or 3 to pull off. For such a major road it was like it had hardly been used and was getting very thick.

Been told that people are struggling to get up the little hill past Redhill Business Park at the moment.

Doesn't help that people don't use both lanes, which means the snow just builds up.

Thought as much. Ignition lockout just a byproduct?

Everything online is telling me the metal pipe shouldn’t be our condensate one as you’re not meant to do that (and it just drips out onto our garage roof rather than directing to any drain) but other than a pipe coming out of the bathroom that’s all there is. So unless a water tank would have had a waste pipe it can’t be that as that was here before the new boiler (which took the place of a tank)

Said pipe attached

My sisters CH boiler has a 1 gallon plastic tank for the condensate to run into, and a float switch that pumps it out into the rain gutter up top when the tank is full.

If yours is set up anything like that you should be able to at least see something like it below your boiler.

Nah, this one has a little tank inside that it occasionally vomits water from

A34 southbound to Stafford.

Left lane block by snow at bottom of Yarlet Bank, Top of Yarlet bank, after speed camera and Redhill.

Traffic is moving from left lane to right lane with little or no warning.

Where does the water go to? Out that copper pipe? I think the copper widget is a safety blow off valve if the system over pressurises. The condensate HAS to come out somewhere else.

ETA. Well feck me sideways, woke up today to a cold house, our bloody condensate pipe had become buried in a snow drift and frozen solid, boiler was flashing L2 code.

Kettle of hot water, brushed away the snow, pulle the pipe off and cleared the ice, reset the boiler and she is now warming up nicely.

Woke this morning to a cold house and a code EA 227 on the thermostat and boiler. So that's my first job of the day.

I was out at 6 to try and get in work for 7 to get back on the phones. We tried 3 different ways out of the village, and the Range Rover wouldn't get through. We towed 2 guys on the Gnosall road who had been stuck since 12.30; one had gone to help the other! Apparently there are 8 foot drifts near Wheaton Aston and the tractor with ploughs on are stuck the other side of it.

Plenty of cars going past now, so I think I might be able to get out via Haughton, but given the forecast this afternoon, not sure I'd get back.

En- route from the doctors, I called in to check my parents empty house that we are in the process of selling...I'd left the heating on timer and it was lovely and warm in there. Might move in myself for a few days if my heating doesn't come back on soon!

Took me 40 minutes to walk the usual 15 minute route this morning at 7.30am but thawing out quite a bit just on my walk back home.

Typically, I'd shovelled all the snow off mine and the shared driveways yesterday. This morning the others were all clear and it had all blown onto ours !

This is the other end, coming from Penkridge/Acton Trussell. This road has now been cleared by the farmer.

M6 south just before J12, snow drifting across making the 4th lane very dodgy, especially when approaching at speed....
