Something to do with the little'uns?

Been having a bit of a nosy for something to do with the blokeys little'un and my smallest, have seen the post about Amerton Farm but that'd be a last resort as we took them there quite recently.

Can anyone suggest/recommend something (not TOO far away) that a 2 and a 5 year old would both like? I was also thinking of Monkey Forest but I haven't been there myself so wouldn't know if it's any good. I really should know more places having been here 8 years but i'm just crap :P

Cheers in advance!

Took mine on it yesterday and it's so rammed at the moment I think we'd be in danger of losing the 2 year old! Was thinking more of something to make a day of, rather than just a couple hours. But thanks :)

The Monkey Forest is ok - it's a nice walk through the forest and there are loads of monkeys (or macaques for the pedantic) that are very close and entertaining.

Trentham Gardens is alright as well - good play area, barefoot walk, maze, train and boat rides - take a picnic as food at the cafe is limited and expensive.

Weston Park is good - the best adventure playground in the county, and nice walks through the woods (follies, lakes, ducks etc)- not sure how interesting it would be for a two-year-old but then again what is? You can pay for just the gardens rather than having to pay for the house as well.

Will try and think of more when i have time. :)

Only just within the county, though. I had a broken leg* there once and the ambulance came from Rugeley because of the location when Telford didn't seem so far away..

*Not one of my own personal legs.

Only problem with the above is they're all on the pricey side.

Cheaper and just as fun is Birches Valley (which may have been mentioned to you before re. the Chase) - great playground, sculpture trail, watching the Go Apees going ape, bike p0rn for those so inclined and ponds and woods to explore.

Likewise SWT Wolesley Bridge centre - not really on the plaything front but a good walk and lots to see wildlife-wise and probably stuff going on over the hols.

You could always spend a day just messing around in town - mouse trail in the High House, sensory room and old courtroom and holding cell in the Shire Hall, choosing a book from the library (and the obligatory ride in the lift), Vicky park (the aviary and hothouse if the playground's too busy) and of course Gramaisc's favourite, chasing pigeons in Market Sq.

Depending on their behaviour I may go with Wizzard's suggestion, but in the event of good behaviour you've given me a few to think of there. Cheers Chaps. ;) x

Perhaps the Council could charge for the use of the facility?.

Just go up the Chase and dam a stream - if they aren't interested, then I'll go with you.

Or make a swing over the stream at the Steppingstones.
Happy days.
