Hi Forumites, as its christmas im after your charity. We in the UNIT household could do with a router to get us through the festive season as ours is on the blink. Any help would be very cool.

Can't help personally, but it might also help if you let everyone know whether it's an ADSL one (BT type lines) or a Cable one (Virgin Media) that you need?

I have an ADSL here but my 1st wife has just put her name down for it unfortunately - unless she changes her mind (in which case I'll let you know)

Its an ADSL one and it needs to run 2 wireless laptops and a hardwired pc. We have a netgear 1 but its giving me serious jip.

get one of these babies from argos:

http://www.argos.co.uk/ProductDisplayTRK019?partNumber=6757742

there's 1 left at the hough atm.. gets great reviews, and it's wireless-n so will be faster than your existing one (assuming your hardware supports .11n, which your mum's probably will cos it's well tidy)..

you're gonna have to get one sooner or later, so you might as well get your old dears to cough up £30 for this innit, it's a right bargain..

10/12/2009 edit: argos had this mis-labelled - it is a cable router, not an ADSL one!
