Spinal Tap to appear at Live Earth!

For those of you who haven't seen spoof rockumentary 'This is Spinal Tap' - sort it out. Those who have will know how very funny it is, and may be interested to know that the band will be appearing at this weekend's 'Live Earth' event in Londinium. Think they're on at about 7.30pm. Some bloody good acts on actually..looking forward to watching Beastie Boys and Metallica in particular!

what did everyone think of live earth? regardless of whether its collective carbon footprint was massive, and some of the line up was only good down to personal taste, i think it was a very worthwhile event....if only to raise awareness i reckon its had an impact.

anyone elses thoughts?

The BBC cut out the first half of "Sad But True" for Enrique Whatabloodystupidname, cut the whole of "Enter Sandman" for some second rate turn-the-automatic-tuner-on disposable popper I don't even remember... Maybe Rhiannon. What did Spinal Tap do? Only "Stonehenge" and "Warmer Than Hell" spring to mind. The cutting away to Katie Melua is well within the memory however...

And the whole "Live Earth concert" concept was nonsensical. Live Aid was a success because it had never been done before and was a genuinely new thing. Everything similar since has been a total waste of time.

@Rich: *RAISE AWARENESS*?!? Who the blooming hell is still unaware? Gore won *2* Oscars for "An Inconvenient Truth". I was aware of global warming as a concept when I was 7 (that's nearly a quarter of a century ago, kids). You cannot turn on a television or open a paper without someone telling you about the evils of throwing pop cans out with the rubbish or ordering you to recycle your soiled toilet paper. Awareness doesn't *need* to be raised, we're all aware - we just don't give a tinker's toot cos we think we'll be dead by then.

Sorry, I'm having one of those days... give me a shotgun, someone.

why? i don't see anything rude about "Cnitung".. i guess you're using the old "cambridge research shows that only the first & last letters of a word need to be correct for your brain to correctly identify it" theory, but it only really works if the word is in context, imo
